Hi Neha,

As per previous years cutoffs the closing rank in General Category was 58594 which is for Food Process engineering 56377 for biomedical engineering in Home State.

This years cutoff will be near around these numbers only. So you might get into NIT Rourkela but you won't have many branches to choose from.

You can get more information  about the cutoffs from the link below:-

Hi,

In my opinion you should go for NIT Andhra ECE in compare to NIT Rourkela Civil/Chemical.

Give priority to core branches then decide college. Decide your interest. Here first two choices you can think if you get NIT. As per scope and diversities of jobs, you can order as follows :

  1. Mechanical engineering
  2. ECE
  3. EEE
  4. Chemical engineering
  5. Civil engineering

Now final call is yours. Choose according to your interest.

Hope this helps.

All the Best.

Dear aspirant,

With a percentile of 96 it's very difficult to get electrical branch or any branch at nit Rourkela being from other state.

A minimum of 97+ percentile is required to grab a seat in nit Rourkela from other state. Although various factors are considered while deciding the cut offs like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.

Hi,

IIEST is a reputed institute so do NIT Rourkela is. According to Data available , Nearly 80-90% students gets placed during placement times with average placement Ranging around 5-6 Lakhs. NIT Rourkela do have similar Placement record. But if you look Career Oppurtunities in India, ECT has better placements Oppurtunities than Chemical Engineering. The Average package of ECT is more than Chemical generally.

So, according to me IIEST shibpur would be good choice .

Thanks!!!!

Hi,

If you are getting in EE in DTU then you should go for it. DTU is better Institute than Newly established NITs. Also EE has better career opportunities than Chemical. DTU has good reputation and it will surely help you in placement times. You can also do research work there if you like. Even if you opt for higher studies, being from DTU would certainly help you .

I hope this will answer your query.

Thanks!!!!
