Both of the institutes are great in their own right. So before anyone call tell you what to decide, I will suggest you to go through the academic details of the programs offered which is present on the official websites so go through the courses offered and then as per

 you can certainly get a seat in NIT trichy for B.Arch but the allotment also depends on what other people having a better rank have put as their preferance. Don't keep it as the only option but surely give it a try.

NIT Trichy is considered to be one of the best and most reputed institutes of India and hence due to this fact the seats of computer science department are filled very fast. According to list published by the official counselling commitee JOSAA, the cut off rank for students

• One needs to secure minimum 75% in 10+2 examinations if he/she belongs to General or OBC candidate ( 10% relaxation for SC/ST and PWD candidates )
• Should be in top 20 percentile of his boards.

I see that you want to pursue b arch from nit Trichy and build career in architecture engineering. But for that you need to be eligible. 

You need to be less than the closing rank of previous year. It was around 300 for general .

I would suggest that first you should make clear which way you wanna go . JEE or CUSAT.

I see that you want to go for nit Trichy and you want to pursue architecture engineering . It is a good thought. But nit Trichy requires very good marks. Say you have to get around 100 percentile if you want to go for nit Trichy.
