Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Sambalpur, was founded in August 1956 by the Odisha Government. The University is accredited by the UGC (University Grants Commission) and the AICTE (All India Technical Education Council). Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Sambalpur was primarily run by the UCE (University College of Engineering) as a member of Utkal University. VSSUT Sambalpur is on an area of 502 acres. Initially, the University began to work with 20 students in three branches of engineering, namely civil engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Sambalpur is named after Veer Surendra Sai, one of the great freedom fighters in India. College Infrastructure
The college has all kinds of required equipment for electrical, civil, mechanical and computer science engineering. It has a central workshop which is mandatory for all first year students. The classrooms are well equipped although not air-conditioned. The library has good range of books essential for engineering students. The college had access to Wi-Fi but not the hostels. The food is hygienic enough and the living spaces were bearable.

College Infrastructure
College infrastructure is very good with all the basic needs including canteen inside the campus and total 11 hostels (5 for girls& 6 for boys). All the hostel rooms have wifi facility so that student can do their project and article work comfortably. There is one central Library with thousands of books. There is one Bijupattnaik e-learning center for conducting all the national and international conference conducted by different branches.

Beef Surendra Sai Institute of Technology is the best Institute in Odisha. Yes, my college has all the necessary infrastructure facility and equipment. The classrooms are well structured and well maintained and all are used. The leaving space is clean, and the food is hyenic.

As you procured 26.9k sc rank in jee mains 2022 and you are wanting to take VSSUT so let me tell you that for taking admission in this college you need to apply for ojee counselling and as per the cut offs decided by the authorities ,if you clear the cut offs you will get a seat there accordingly.
However various factors are considered while deciding the cut offs like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.

3: Are any Dual programs provided at the college?
Yes there are dual courses in VSSUT. Some of these courses include B.Tech+M.Tech and more. The dual degree programme is a five year integrated B.Tech (4 years) and M.Tech (1 year) programme. The UG component of the above programme is identical to that of the 4-year B.Tech. This is followed with specialized elective courses in the 7th, 8th and 9th Semesters and an intensive Masters Thesis in the 9th and 10th Semester. At end of 10th Semester on successful completion of the programme, the student shall be issued a B.Tech degree in the concerned core branch and a M.Tech degree with specialisations.
4: Is VSSUT better than Kiit?
VSSUT is Tier-2 college whereas KIIT is a Tier-3 college. Both the colleges have their own brand name and qualities. As per the students, the only thing that KIIT edges over it is the infrastructure and the lab/ hostel/ mess facilities for students along with the location. But academic and placement's wise VSSUT is superior to KIIT.
5: Is VSSUT good for btech?
Most of the students get placed in campus placements. So the VSSUT placements are pretty decent. Most of the MNCs visit VSSUT campus including TCS, Infosys Wipro, Cognizant, IBM, Deloitte, PwC, Aditya Birla, Tata steel, Tata power etc. Last year the highest package offered in B.Tech CSE was Rs 16 lakh per annum. So yes it is good for B.tech.
6: Is there ragging in VSSUT Burla?

Yes VSSUT comes under Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT). In 1956, University College of Engineering (UCE) started with 20 students enrolling into 3 branches, namely the Civil Engineering, the Electrical Engineering and the Mechanical Engineering. Subsequently, UCE got transferred to the administrative control of Sambalpur University in January 1967 and later on to Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) by BPUT Act-2002 in July, 2002.
