Congratulations for your wonderful performance in VITEEE. With the mentioned rank you will not be able to get a CSE seat in Vellore campus under category 1. You may get CSE with some specialization under category 2 and even CSE core under third category. You need to choose your preferences wisely during counselling to justify your rank.

You need to secure the cut off rank specified to get admission to a preferred course. Now, this cut off rank will be different for each campus and rank. The cut off rank for Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology will be comparatively less than other branches. With the rank that you have secured it is very difficult to get seat in Computer Science Engineering or Information Technology. You should secure a rank under 10000 to have good chances of getting seat in preferred course. You may get admission to Civil Engineering in VIT, Vellore campus and Mechanical Engineering in Chennai campus. Cut off rank changes every year depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.

As you have mentioned that your rank is 47,000 and considering you want to pursue Computer science branch, chances are that you get VIT Vellore but in around category 5 . If you can afford this then its okay, but if not I would suggest you to opt for VIT Chennai or AP campus as here you can manage to get into category 4 or maybe category 3 which is a better option and the fees also varies . The categories vary year to year , it also depends on the number of students applying for it.

You might have chances of getting seat in Civil Engineering, Production and Industrial Engineering in Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore and Mechanical Engineering in Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai. This is based on past years cut off trends. Yes absolutely, you have decent chances of getting ECE seat in VIT Vellore under category 1 with the mentioned rank of 9410. Even you can try for IT seat in VIT Vellore under category 1 (if you are interested), however the chances are low but you can still try.

As per the previous years records there are pretty decent chancs that you can get a seat in ECE under category 3 in VIT Vellore campus. Also, you can try for CSE or IT seats in VIT Chennai (if you are interested). And if, somehow, you do not get ECE seat ( it might occur as cutoffs change every year) then do not get disheartened you can always try for category 4.

Hope you are doing well.According to your rank it is difficult for you to get admission in Comp.Sc.Engg. in VIT Vellore.I would suggest to try some other branches in Vellore campus and if u want Comp.Sc.Engg, then you can try at VIT Bhopal and VIT AP .

Dear candidate, there is no reservation system in VIT campuses. Admission in VIT is done through VITEEE exam. They do not consider JEE Main score (except Bhopal campus). After 2016, the institute not revealed there cutoff but according to data available, rank of 5000-6000 in VITEEE exam can fetch you CSE in VIT Vellore main campus. At 16000 rank in VITEEE you can try for ECE or IT.

Hope you are doing well.As per your rank you cannot get admission in Comp.Sc.Engg in VIT Vellore because to get admission in this branch you should have atleast 7000 rank.But you can get admission in-

Computer science and Engg. (Specialisation in Bioinformatics)

Hello aspirant, first of all congratulations on getting 8263 rank in VITEEE. According to previous year trends you need under 5K rank for CSE branch in category 1 , under 10K rank for category 2 and under 20K rank for category 3 or 4. So you have a high chance of getting CSE in category 2 in VIT Vellore main campus. The tuition fees for category 2 is around 2.35 LPA. You can get CSE in VIT Vellore main branch or VIT Chennai branch if you are comfortable to pay the required fees.
