There will be several stages in the counselling and a candidate has to attend all these stages to get the final allotment confirmation and to join the course. These stages are:
Step 1 – Online Registration
Step 2 – Online Choice Filling And Lockin
Step 3 – Seat Allotment And Document Authentication
Step 4 – Reporting to Allotted Institute
JEE Main 2018 Spot Seat Allotment
JEE Main Counselling – Necessary Documents
As per rules of JoSAA, only a one-time opportunity will be given to candidate for Registration, Online Choice Filling, Dual Reporting. As far as Registration and Choice Filling is concerned every student is aware about the same, but Dual Reporting is what where students get confused. So, here is the explanation of Dual Reporting. It is a process under which candidate can report twice, and can switch seat allocated in one institute with the seat allocated in another one. Candidates will require this Dual Reporting if they want to change the allotment of seat from NITs, IIITs or Other GFTIs to an IIT/ ISM. Same rule applies in Vice versa situation. Candidates who will fail to do so will end up losing the seat in both NIT/IIIT/GFTI and IIT/ISM.
