It is a state-level exam that is conducted under the instructions of the Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education, Roorkee (UBTER). It is also known as the Joint Engineering Examination Polytechnic (JEEP). This entrance exam is conducted every year by the Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education for filling polytechnic seats in government/ private technical institutes of Uttarakhand.
