Government Unani Medical College, Chennai Admission Process

Application Process

The application process for Government Unani Medical College, Chennai, depends on the program:

For BUMS Program:

  1. to appear for the NEET exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Admission Process Degree Wise

BUMS (Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery): The flagship course running in Government Unani Medical College, Chennai is the BUMS program. It has a sanctioned annual admission capacity of 60 candidates. Admission to the BUMS course is dependent on the NEET examination performance. Aspirants must pass class 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as indispensable subjects. The BUMS course is of four calendar years duration followed by one-year internship.

MD Moalajat (Doctor of Medicine in Unani): Admission to the postgraduate MD program in Moalajat is based on the merit secured by the candidates in the AIAPGET. This course is meant for BUMS graduates who want to specialize in Unani Medicine. As per the college information, the admission process is purely on AIAPGET results. All candidates qualifying in the AIAPGET are therefore eligible for the counseling process for seat allocation.
