Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Chemical Engineering is a four-year full-time undergraduate Course offered by KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.

The competency profile of Chemical Engineers includes a clear knowledge of both the theoretical and practical principles involved in the technological process. The curriculum of Chemical Engineering, hence, encompasses the study of chemistry & Material Science, Applied Mathematics, Material & Energy Balances, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat & Mass Transfer, Mechanical Operations, Separation Processes, Reaction Kinetics, Instrumentation & Process Control and Design of Process Equipment. In addition to careers in conventional chemical industries viz. Fertilizers, Sulphur and Sulphuric acid, Cement, Paper & Pulp, Sugar & Starch, Oil and Gas, Petro Chemicals and Industrial Gases. Chemical Engineers have vast opportunities in areas such as Polymers, Food & Agriculture, Drugs & Biomedical Technology, Material Science and Metallurgy, Energy, Alternate Fuels, Transportation, Environmental Applications, Ceramics, Space Science and Nuclear Technology.

Eligibility Criteria

Tamilnadu Candidates

The candidates must have passed the 12th standard (intermediate) or its equivalent examination from the Government recognized board with the subjects as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with the percentage as 45% (for general candidates), 40% (for backward class including Muslim), 40% (MBC & DNC) and 40% (for SC/ST/SCA) candidates.

Other State Candidates

As the candidates from other states are considered under General Category, a Pass with minimum average marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics put together as 45% (General Category)

NRI (Non-Resident Indian Category)

The candidate should have passed in all the subjects and scored a minimum average of 45% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics put together as in General Category

FN (Foreign National Category)

The candidate should have passed in all the subjects and scored a minimum average of 45% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics put together

Eligibility Criteria for Lateral Entry (Direct Second Year) B. E. / B. Tech Programmes

Passed Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in any branch of Engineering and Technology

Admission Details

Government of Tamil Nadu makes admissions to B.E. / B.Tech. Courses of all the affiliated colleges through a common merit list of candidates administered by Anna University, Chennai.

We are educated by our eminent professors with digital classroom and digital class room and lab facilities. We also provided with extra labs such as drone lab,library,robotics lab,The MAAC animation lab ,CFRD lab,engineering museum and many more. KPRIET is a pollution free environment with less percentage of water waste.

College Infrastructure

I believe KPR has the best infrastructure among the colleges in coimbatore. High tech Laboratories and classrooms with great wifi facilities, good drinking water and hygienic food. Also the Hostel Facilities are great compared to other higher tier institutes.
