Marian engineering college has got an eco-friendly campus. It helps in reducing the stress of the students. It has also got well-maintained laboratories (physics and chemistry) and workshops.Library has got a good collection of required books. There are career and placement cell for enhancement of students for participation in the placed and departments helps in clearing all your doubts regarding placements. This is a place where studies are more considered than any other activities. So I tell u you should select here only if you are ready to obey the rules and regulations of this institution. But I can guarantee you something if you follow the rules and guidance from the faculty members ,you will find yourself placed in a good company when you are stepping out of the college. The hostel provides all the facilities required by the students.Personnel computers with networks are provided for doing their project works and all other study works,at the same time the social-network sites are blocked ,so that the students do only their study work.attached bathroom facilities are available.Mess food is comparatively good. Ragging-free -campus.Friendly students, helpful, but as u all know its a competitive world and so that competition is always there in everyone's mind. But I feel its a bit expensive here, but they provide fee concession to the poor students. For the sc/st students its a less fee structure here.

Marian Engineering College, Trivandrum is a Christian Management self- financing engineering college which is situated at Kazhakuttam, the IT hub of Kerala. This college mainly focuses on academics rather than the overall development of skills in a student. The placements are good enough for a private college but if you take the quality of students graduating from this college, it is poor. This is mainly because of the poor industry exposure and lack of encouragement for co-curricular and extra-curricular activities given to the students by the management and faculties. The college only focuses on how to increase the pass percentage in the University examinations conducted by Kerala University. The faculty members are well-experienced in their respective industries but it is more like spoon-fed kind of teaching. The principal and the management don't even give enough encouragement to conduct Inter-college cultural fest (known as Tejasri) in the college. There were incidences when the entire students had to plead in front of the principal and the manager in order to give the permission for conducting the fest!!! The rules are very stringent and one will find their school-life much better comparatively. If you really want to enjoy your college life and to learn to engineer in a way it really meant to be, don't choose this college. On the other hand, if you just want a Btech degree and want to be spoon-fed when studies are concerned, opt this college. Compared to other private colleges in Trivandrum, it is one among the best, but you'll surely miss that college-life experience.

MEC, Trivandrum is blessed with well-experienced faculty members, especially in the Electronics & Communication Engineering Department. The college is very good if you are looking for a school kind of environment where the faculties and the management will assess you only on the basis of your academic achievements. The industry exposure is very poor and there is no encouragement for extra-curricular activities. The placements are decent compared to other private colleges. But you will surely miss a college-like atmosphere in the Marian campus. The students will even get a suspension if they celebrate Holi or valentines day inside the college campus. If you didn't get an admission in any of the Govt colleges in TVM, then you can surely choose Marian Engineering College as it one of the best among self-financing colleges in Trivandrum.

Good for studies alone. College does not give much importance to extracurricular activities. The quality of teachers is good. Overall its more like a school than a college.Facilities are good. Placements are not Good . But compared to other private colleges its good.

A mix of good and bad elements

Made some very good moments to cherish for the lifetime but that was out of our own. The infrastructure is pretty fine but the encouragement for students is on the downhill. With policies that make the courses tougher, and little support for extracurricular activities students need to find ways of enjoyment on their own.
