BA, B.Sc., and B.Com.: Admission to these undergraduate courses is on merit by the college, given to applicants who qualify after passing their 10+2 from any recognized board. The marks received in the qualifying examination will be considered by the college while preparing its merit list.
For BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications), the BCA program at MCM DAV College has an approved intake of 60 students. Admission to the program is merit-based on the basis of marks scored in the 10+2 examination with emphasis given on relevant subjects.
The M.Sc. programs offered by MCM DAV College are Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Botany, and Zoology. Each of these five programs has an approved intake range of 50-60 students. Admission into these programs takes place through an entrance test conducted by Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla.
Course M.Com: The master program of commerce has an approved intake of 50 students. Admission to it takes place on the basis of an entrance test conducted by Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla.
MA English: This program is at postgraduate level and has an approved intake of 50 students. The entrance examination held by Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, is the basis of its admission process.
PGDCA (Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications): This one-year diploma has an approved intake of 60 students. Admission may consider graduation marks and/or entrance test of the candidate.
The teaching style is mainly concept-oriented, and they attempt to relate concepts to practical business scenarios. The curriculum is quite current, with topics being mapped to industry requirements currently such as GST, Financial Accounting, and Business Law.
The academic structure of this college is very normal. I did BCom from this college in 2017. There are many other courses which are available over here and which helps the student to gain knowledge and their skills.
The Academics section are good. The teachers know their subjects well and provide useful guidance and helpful. The curriculum is solid, and I felt that I gained a good amount of knowledge during my B.Sc.
