Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Veterinary Education and Research, Puducherry Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has established a fully air-conditioned library on the first floor of Block I. Currently, the library has 5320 books and subscribes to 20 National and 22 International journals. The library is equipped with three personal computers with internet facilities. VET CDs and BEAST CDs are available for use by staff and students. Photocopying facilities are extended to staff and students on a nominal payment basis.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students. A centralized computer facility is available in the administrative building of the Institute for the use of students and faculty. In addition, each department is provided with a personal computer. All computers are sharing a high-speed broadband Internet connection through the NME-ICT Project of MHRD for Internet access. An amount of Rs 7 lakhs was sanctioned for networking under the FIST Programme of DST 2011 under the head "networking and computational facilities". Hence campus-wide OFC (Optical Fiber Cable) network with SDC (Structured Data Cabling) work interconnecting all the buildings in the Zone “A” campus was carried out through BSNL.

The college is having a Multi-Gym with 8 stations and different Individual Fitness equipment.

The college has sports facilities for all students. Sports are available at Campus-B of the Institute, which include an Indoor Shuttle Badminton Court, Volley Ball Court with flood light, a Basket Ball Court with flood light, Table Tennis, and Hand Ball. The Institute is developing a 400 m Standard Track and a Cricket Pitch. The Institute has a Multi-Gym with 8 Stations and different Individual Fitness equipment.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The college has a boys’ hostel facility, which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

The college has a girls’ hostel facility, which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.
