    The B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics – Materials Science & Nanotechnology (3+1)* program, offered by the School of Advanced Engineering at UPES, is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the rapidly evolving fields of materials science and nanotechnology.

    With a curriculum that blends theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience, the program emphasizes the synthesis, fabrication, and characterization of advanced materials. Students will explore the wide-ranging applications of these materials across sectors such as healthcare, sanitation, defense, clean energy technologies (including solar cells, fuel cells, and hydrogen storage), aerospace, and semiconductors. From core physics principles to advanced topics in nanomaterials, surface science, and materials characterization, the program equips students with the knowledge and practical skills required to tackle real-world challenges. A strong focus on laboratory training and project-based learning ensures that students gain exposure to modern material analysis techniques and engineering practices.

    Eligibility Criteria

    Interested students must meet the following minimum eligibility criteria to enroll in the B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics – Materials Science & Nanotechnology (3+1)* program: a minimum 50% marks in Class X and XII with PCM/B in class XII.
