Sri Mahadeshwara Government First Grade College, Kollegal Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College Library has a good collection of about 42000 books on various subjects. It has rare and valuable reference sources including encyclopedias, language and subject dictionaries, etc. Resources in CDs and DVDs are also available. The library has a subscription to important journals in various subject fields.

The College has a professionally designed Stadium of about 8.5 acres for outdoor activities and a sports room for indoor games. There is also a field of about 5 acres for general sports activities. Multi-gym and other physical training equipment are also available for the benefit of the students. Practice sessions are carried out daily for athletics and team games from 6:30 to 7:30 am, 8:30 am to 9:30 am, and in the evening from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. From 11:30 am to 1:30 pm and during leisure hours, indoor games (carrom and chess) are conducted.

A well-equipped computer lab, UPS Back-up is available which is used for facilitating students to learn practical knowledge in subjects like Computer Applications, Java, C, C++, HTML, ASP.Net, and so on. The students are encouraged to give PowerPoint presentations on various topics in the Computer Lab.

The college has a boys’ hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

The science departments like Physics, Botany, Zoology; Computer Science Dept. Chemistry, Mathematics, and Geography of the college have well-equipped laboratories along with computer and internet facilities.
