However if you are not eligible for jee mains then you must apply for mhtcet to get admission in the mentioned colleges and score really good. The number of seats might be very less for non domicile students but that does not mean that the colleges do not take non domicile students. Non domicile students surely get admission but only the ones who scored really high in the examination. So if you think that you will perform well then don't think about these factors and just give your best.

Since ece is a non core branch, you will be allowed to ait for most of the companies, some companies might restrict their placements for cse/it students but maximum number of companies are open to ece as well, do you need not worry. The MHT-CET or Common Entrance Test is an annual entrance exam conducted by the Government of Maharashtra. It is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education. About the reservation is concern Around 50% of backward-class seats are reserved in the state of Maharashtra. The 200 MHT CET Seats Reservation will be based on Maharashtra's diverse backward class. OBC (Other Backward Class) has 19 per cent more seat reservations than Maharashtra 's Schedule Tribe and Scheduled Caste. Then, the rest will be for the categories of General and others.

In short total 66% seats are falls under reserved category.

Both are autonomous and qualified colleges. VJTI is ranked as the top colleges of Maharashtra after IIT Bombay.

But if you want some choice between the two then I would recommend you to go for VJTI as it is a friendly college for the students. Rest is depends on which field you want to choose.

Both the colleges are good enough. But in many aspects SPIT is much better than VJTI. The teachers in SPIT are well qualified. The classrooms are good, well-versed system of extra-curricular activities, good wifi connection, excellent exposure of practical trainings and workshops. Libraries are very peaceful and the staff whether teaching or non-teaching is very helpful. It also has best placement opportunities for its students.

VJTI Pune accepts both jee mains and mht cet score for admission in B. Tech courses but only outside state students are accepted through jee mains, Maharashtra students have to appear for mht cet. To know more about vjti pune and its admission procedure you can check the following link:
