If you are looking for script writing courses after your graduation then there are a number of academies providing this course where you can joing after your graduation. If you are willing to pursue English(Hons.) in graduation then below is a detailed inforation about some wonderful colleges offering this 3-year programme in Kolkata:

1.St. Xavier's College

ENTRANCE : St Xavier's college, Kolkata admits students entirely on the basis of merit. Only the marks obtained in the class 12 board examinations is taken into account which should be more than 90%. No separate admission test is held.

FEE: The students opting for B.A. English pay an average of about Rs 25,000 per annum, excluding the condonation fees, arrear fees, review fees, fines etc. Aggregate fees is nearly Rs.88000.

FACULTY: St Xavier's college has an extremely diligent and highly accomplished faculty who are thoroughly devoted to the welfare of the students. The professors are all PhD degree holders, with quite a few of them with degrees from abroad. Also, each professor has a very student friendly attitude and is always ready to guide the students.

PLACEMENT: Mostly postgraduate students are placed at pay packages starting from Rs.3 Lpa, going higher depending on the post offered.

2.Lady Brabourne College

ENTRANCE: The college's conducts its own entrance exam for admission to English Honours course along with a merit score in 12th boards.

FACULTY : The course curriculum followed that of the University of Calcutta. The faculty is good, and experienced. Students are taught well, and teachers are quite informed about what they teach.

PLACEMENT : The college doesn't have an active placement cell. Being from Lady Brabourne College is helpful, but there are no placement facilities offered by the college.

3.Loreto College

ENTRANCE: Admission takes place on merit basis followed by interview round.

FEE : The fee structure is feasible, varying in different courses from Rs.13,000-16,000 quarterly. Aggregate fee for 3 year course is nearly Rs.65000.

FACULTY : The faculty is really well-read and amazing. The professors are incredibly helpful and recommend opportunities and provide detailed explanation for all topics.

PLACEMENT: There are no placement cells in the college. After the graduation you have to find for yourself. Internships are the best way to do the same but without any college recommendations.

4. Presidency University

ENTRANCE : Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with 80% (Arts) OR 85% (Sci/Com) in aggregate and 75% in English from recognized university. The university holds entrance examinations of its own for English Honours.

FEE : The examination fees and the tuition fees are to be paid every six months. The fee structure for B.A. honors in English comes to approximately INR 2,115 per year.

FACULTY :The faculty of the college is arguably one of the best in the country. Some of the professors are gold medalists in their subjects with more than 20 years of experience. The university also holds lectures, seminars, and talks wherein professors from other universities are invited to speak on a certain topic which falls under their specialization.

PLACEMENT : There is no placement scenerio. However, every passout student has the required knowledge and skill to find employment in areas of their interest after their successful graduation (in their field) from the university.
