What is Pharmaceutics?
As there are still plenty of diseases for which we know no cure, the future of the Pharmaceutical industry will continue to expand, both within India and globally. Many colleges across India offer a specialisation course in Pharmaceuticals. However, it can only be pursued after attaining a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) degree at the undergraduate level, followed by an M. Pharm degree in Pharmaceuticals. Eligibility Criteria (UG & PG) of Pharmaceutics
Pharmaceutics Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for admission into Pharmaceutics courses are more or less similar to other undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the biological or medical arena. The minimum criteria which candidates interested in pursuing the course are required to fulfil are listed below.
For Undergraduate Courses
Pharmaceutics is a discipline of pharmacy, i.e. it's a specialisation course and therefore, can only be pursued after attaining a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) degree at the undergraduate level.
To pursue B.Pharm, a student needs to pass his Class XII (10+2) boards from a recognised board.
They should also have studied PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English as compulsory subjects in class 12.
A minimum of 50% marks in PCB (45% for SC and ST candidates) in the Class XII exams are required by students to qualify for admission.
Admission is granted based on a candidate's performance in a relevant entrance test like WMJEE, CET, etc. often followed by a round of personal interview, wherein their general aptitude for the course is tested.
For Postgraduate Pharmaceutics Courses
Candidates aspiring for admission in the M. Pharm. Pharmaceutics courses need to have attained the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) degree from a recognised university or an institution equivalent to a university.
They must have attained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
In various colleges and universities, an entrance exam (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) is conducted for the admission.
Pharmaceutics Entrance Exam
GPAT- The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test is a national-level entrance examination for admission into M. Pharm courses. It is a three-hour computer-based online test which is conducted in a single session. The questions are from the fields like Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy.
The GPAT score is accepted by all AICTE-approved Institutions/University across India to select suitable Pharmacy graduates for admission into their Master's program.
A few scholarships and other financial assistance in the field of pharmacy are also given based on the GPAT score. Up until 2018, it was conducted by the AICTE every year. The test will now be conducted by the National Test Academy (NTA).
AP-PGECET Pharmacy- Andhra Pradesh has their common entrance test dubbed as the APPGECET which is a state-level examination for taking admissions in the post-graduate programs of colleges in Andhra Pradesh, in the field of Engineering, Pharmacy, and Technology.
The Candidates who completed their graduation in B.Tech/B.E/B. Pharmacy from any recognised University or Organisation is eligible for AP PGECET. Andhra University & Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education are successfully conducting the APPGECET every year.
AIPSSCET - The All India Post Graduate Super Specialty Common Entrance Test is a national level entrance examination conducted every year to facilitate the admissions procedure for post-graduate programs including pharmacy and other medical specialities. AIPSSCET is organised by universities across India, every academic year to provide admissions in Post Graduate Level Super Specialty courses.
Candidates who are qualified in this examination can pursue a PG course in any Medical University in India. The time duration of this examination is 2 hours 30 minutes. The questions in this examination will be in Multiple Choice only.
BITS Higher Degree Pharmacy- Birla Institute of Technology offers its own entrance examination for individuals to get admission in their postgraduate programs on pharmacy which are offered by the institute. Based on the students' scores in the test, they will be shortlisted for counselling. It is usually conducted offline and stretches over three hours. However, in this pandemic situation, the examination may be conducted online, only for this year.

PharmD is a professional degree for a duration of six years that is five years of academic study and one year of internship, the eligibility criteria regarding this is passed 10+2 from a recognized board having studied physics, chemistry, biology/mathematics as core subjects securing 50% aggregate or above depending upon the norm of the college,
admission may be based on the merit of the last qualifying examination or it can be done through entrance tests such as conducted by Dayanand Sagar University, Bharathi Vidyapeeth etc,

So, normally for the course of Pharma D the fee will range between INR 2 lakhs to 10 lakhs per annum. This will generally depend from one university to the other.

Since you have completed your bachelors degree in pharmacy you are completely eligible to become a drug inspector. You can be a drug inspector after writing an exam and passing tests. Drug inspector is a post offered by UPSC. After completing your bachelors degree you should apply for the exam in UPSC official site. If you qualified the exam then you are eligible. Few Central Government sectors requires mpharm. The minimum age is 21 years and maximum is 30 years to appear in the Drug Inspector examination.
