HBTI KANPUR is switching itsintake through jee mains this will be great news as more intake will be there. Reservation for the EWS category has been provided for the first time in JEE Main exam by NTA, therefore, it would be difficult to tell you the chances of admission as the previous year cutoff are not available for reference.

based on your rank and last year trends you will not get electrical but you can try for lower branch like paint ,leather,food,oil and biochemical ,these are the branches you will get till the spot round in hbti

Since you have not mentioned your category so we are assuming that you are from general category and we are providing data as per the general category
As you have mentioned that you have got 40k rank in JEE mains 2019 and you are willing to take admission in HBTU Kanpur formerly known as HBTI
Since HBTU Kanpur has not declared its cutoff 2019 so we are providing previous year data which will help you to understand what are your chances of admission in HBTU Kanpur, as you might be aware that HBTU Kanpur accept JEE mains rank for its admission process so here we are providing previous year HBTU Kanpur cutoff for CS and IT branch

Since you have obtained 40k rank in JEE mains 2019 which is very much more than the last year cutoff of HBTU Kanpur so we can conclude that there are very less chances of admission in IT or CS branch in HBTU Kanpur

In Harcourt Butler technological institute, the cutoff for every branch is below 500. So it will be difficult for you to get an admission there.

nfrastructure of my college is solid, with a balance between traditional charm and modern facilities. The classrooms are comfortable and equipped with audio-visual aids.
