M tech International joint program food Science and Technology at IIT Guwahati which was established in the year of 1994 has the collaboration of knowledge and Science with the Japan  GIFU

University. This course of study includes food Technology, food Science, microbiology, to make the student a future expert and professional in the in the due course of food Science. Expert once a candidate can take this course in IIT Guwahati which has the joint International program with GIFU University Japan. Doing this course alone candidates can be an expert or become a scientist in food Science in future.

Food scientist candidates has to expertise himself in food Science and food microbiology. To be a expert for skilled in the sector of critical thinking, analytical knowledge, data analysis, good communications, decision making, observation, and mathematics. The candidate should have a post graduate degree in food Science  have to research work degree of PhD in food Science. On the other hand  the candidate may be of Mtech in food engineering degree from IIT Kharagpur will be very much helpful to  you to become a food scientist and work in this field successfully.

Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati does not offer M.Tech Food Science and Technology but they offer International Joint Master of Technology in Food Science and Technology ( I nternational & Inter Disciplinary (Joint Degree Program of IIT Guwahati and Gifu University, Japan) in Food Science and Technology), from 2019 inwards this course is being offered in IIT Guwahati.

Candidates must have completed B.Tech in Biotechnology/ Chemical/ Agricultural Engineering/ Food and allied disciplines Chemical/Biotechnology/Food/Agricultural Engineering/Technology and allied disciplines (OR) M.Sc. 2 years course or M.S. 5 years Integrated course in Biochemistry/ Food Science/ Biology/ Zoology/ Life Sciences/ Botany/ Chemistry and allied disciplines are eligible.

Valid GATE score from the relevant discipline (BT/CY/AG/ CH/XL/XE). is Mandatory.

5 Indians and 5 Japanese students are eligible for this course.

So, it is difficult to get previous year's GATE cut-off for this course and is not available our data base also.

The journey of a student from the first year till the convocation is different and unique for each and every student. Coming from the EXAM PHASE to the COLLEGE PHASE is quite a large jump. Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, the sixth member of the IIT fraternity, was established in 1994 is one of the excellence university for Computer Science branch. And cutoff is bit high for the CSE branch around 50 -110 ranking (ST Category) in 2021. And marks around 80-100 out of 300 for getting CSE in IIT Guwahati.

Regarding your query, after graduation you can still live in campus untill Hostel management ask you to vacanct the hostel, after that if you want to stay further you should seek permission from College authority otherwise you're not allowed to live there after official notice.

We have the best infrastructure, the classrooms are really big that can accomodate 80 students easily and also lecture halls of capacity 200. There are well equiped laboratories. Library is very large containing more than 50000 books. The mess maintainance and food are very hygenic.

Infrastructure is really good; at most places, you will get Wi-Fi. The library is also excellent. It's very comfortable reading in the library. The classroom is good, facilities are good—everything is good. In the hostel, you will get sufficient washing machines and a water cooler on each floor.
