So, with regard to your query, YES there is an interview for the students for getting admission into IIT Madras for Mtech course. The interview is generally conducted to those students, who had qualified in the written entrance exam. Some practical and conceptual questions will be asked during the time of the interview.

However, there was no interview during the previous year, because of the COVID pandemic. Students got qualified directly through their GATE scores.

Yes, you are eligible to apply for B.Sc Data Science course offered by IIT, Madras. The eligibility criteria who have passed 10+2 or its equivalent is that they must have studied Mathematics and English in class 10 th. They must have passed They should have cleared class 12 or its equivalent in 2020 or earlier. The list of Class 12th equivalent is as follows

1. A Diploma recognised by AICTE or a state board of technical education of at least 3 year duration.

2. Any Public School / Board / University examination in India or in any foreign country recognised as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

3. Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.

4. General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.

5. High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.

6. Higher Secondary Certificate vocational examination.

7. Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognised Board / University.

You can get IITs or NITs with your score in Graduation. To get into IITs or NITs  minimum 60 percentage (55 percentage for reservation category candidates) in B.E/ B.Tech from a recognised College or University.
