Hey,

For CSE branch in NIT Suratkal, the closing rank is 1767 and in NIT Trichy is 1140, NIT Warangal is 1745.

As you are scoring above 250, your rank would be under 1492.

Hence, you have a chance to get into the desired colleges. Do apply for counsellings of all the rounds and be aware of the dates. Upon everything, stay optimistic.

All the best.

Hello!

Admission in IIIT Hyderabad will be based on performance in an entrance exam (computer based) and an interview. Entrance exam syllabus:

The test will have 2 parts:

  • Section 1 Subject Proficiency Test: the syllabus is CBSE 11th and 12th standard Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics
  • Section 2 Research Aptitude Test: the syllabus is also CBSE 11th and 12th standard Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics. However the test will be on creative and critical thinking.

The shortlisting of candidates for interview is based on the cutoff marks in relevant exams (whole entrance exam is considered for cutoff). Offer of admission is based solely on the interview performance.

Hi Guru,

I had the same question when I was getting ready to start college.

If you ask in one line, my answer is that it will totally depend on that average student.

Let me guide you through this. It is going to be really hard but if you have determination then anything is possible. Here are some steps that I followed and some that I should have followed-

  • You will get a gap between your exam and the start of college. That's very important for you. Don't waste a single second. Pick up your laptop or mobile, open youtube and start learning as much as possible about Computer Science. you will find various you tuber you will guide you.
  • If you have any idea of a computer then start learning C. I would suggest to buy a book 'Let us C'. Complete as much as possible before college.
  • When you are in college than talk to everyone and make as many friends as possible, especially with those who have knowledge about computer. Take there help when needed.
  • Remember, the college will assume that you know the basic so just don't depend on them.
  • Ask the teacher for help. They will surely help.
  • Don't stop reading and learning about computer in the first year. In the first year, you won't be having many subjects in computer science. This is your only chance to come to the level of others.
  • Join Tech Groups. See what they are up to.
  • Most importantly, you may remember these things now but will forget once you reach college and get indulge in other activity. So take a screenshot of this answer and remember to look at it as many times as possible.

It won't be as tough as it seems. I did it, and you could too. But once you lose your 1st year, no one can help you and you will end up in some bad job or unemployed.

Hope it was useful to you and your query was resolved.

Feel free to contact us for any queries.

All the best :)

My experience at IIIT Hyderabad.

College Infrastructure

The infrastructure is pretty good. They have good classrooms and really good facilities at the lab. The college has a great research culture, with a huge chunk of money being invested in research labs. The Wi-Fi facilities are not that good, and the network is not that good. Also, all classrooms are not air-conditioned. The hostels are also pretty good. But there's one issue with hostels, which is drinking water. It has happened many times that drinkable water is not available on many floors. Also, the lift does not work properly and gets stuck many times.

Having so nice experience here.
