First of all, decide what you want to study - electronics or information technology. Based upon that, opt for the college. Electronics and communication deals with the circuits, microprocessor, microcontroller, VLSI Design etc. while information technology deals with the computer architecture, system programming, operating systems, database management and computer networks.

EWS category reservation has provided for the first time in JEE Main Entrance Exam so it would be difficult to tell you about the admission possibilities as previous year cutoff is not available but with this rank the chances seems less to get a seat in NITs.

I think that you would get a seat in NIT patna because you have got 5400 its a good rank.And as your home state is also bihar it is more easy for you to get seat in NIT patna.

People do M.tech mostly for research purposes. In NIT Patna, there is very little placements for M.tech students and thank also for CSE branch. For other branches, students mostly go for PhD. Noo..NIT patna Will give admissison Through JEE mains Scores Only.. No other examination scores are accepted for Admission In B.TECh.

But NIT patna Have 50% reservation for Home state quota seats As all the Other NIT have..so The cutoff for Home quota is Comparatively Low then Outside Home quota..

College Infrastructure

Overall good infrastructure. The road connecting to the college from boys hostel needs improvement and overall good campus and there were nice canteens,libraries and necessary equipments were also available for the students.

College Infrastructure

The college infrastructure is very bad. The bricks that were attached to the walls of the college were not fixed properly. We have the classrooms with projectors,but we haven't seen the professors using those to teach us.We don't have smart boards. We have a good Library with a plenty of books.They are only useful for academics ,but not for other purposes like preparing for govt. jobs... We've a small ground in which we can't play football and cricket at a time.(that small it is....) we've good laboraties with all equipment. In our hostel we have wifi facilities(only ethernet but not internet). Living spaces are not clean and the food is not hygienic.(once we questioned mess incharge.He replied-"We Bihari's prefer quantity over quality."
