Iiit gwalior -
Highest package - 35LPA
Average package - 10 LPA
Top recruiters - TCS , flamingo , Axis bank , infosys , IBM , etc.

NIT Patna
Highest package - 43.17LPA
Average package - 8.8LPA
Top recruiters - Amazon , oracle , Accenture, Adobe, jio , Alstom.
If you really want to choose then I would suggest you to go for nit patna as it has a good academic environment as well as nice hostel and sports facilities. So choose wisely .

As you have mentioned that you want to join nit patna cse so I would recommend that it's a fair decision to join cse at nit patna because nit patna is a rising nit and its doing great in its placements.

Recently, Paytm hired 41 students from nit patna. Maximum were from computer science branch. Other companies like microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte, cognizant, wipro, Infosys,tcs comes for its recruitment. The average package for the cse branch stays between 12-13L per annum.

See both the institutes are very good. Now you have to choose among this two based on your interest in the course. If you are interested in CSE go for NIT PATNA and if you are interested in ECE then go for NIT JAMSEDHPUR.

Now if you are asking this question from a placement perspective point then I would recommend you that you should go for NIT JAMSEDHPUR. The average packages of NIT J is better than NIT P. But apart from this there are no such big difference between these two institutes.

I am saying this assuming you a general category student as you have not mentioned the category in your question.

The maximum closing rank for NIT Patna last year in 2020 was 40,491 for Civil engineering branch.

But on 40.9 percentile your rank will be 603570 - 678500, which is too high to get a seat in NIT Patna.

In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020, under home state quota ,  closing  rank for gender female for ews category in NIT patna i. e  was 6354 ews  rank .

It is quite difficult to compare such colleges but still it is quite important to opt for 1 college. At this situation white I suggest you is to analyze them based on some criteria such as placement, campus and others. i am providing a tool for the same. Considering the previous year cut off in CSAB special round 1 for OBC-NCL (other state) you have decent chances of getting seat in ECE in the above mentioned NITs. The cut off is as follows

• NIT, Hamirpur-26639
• NIT, Patna: 27264
• NIT, Jamshedpur: 22896

Cut off changes depending on number of candidates applied, difficulty of exam and number of vacant seats available etc.
