Hey!
there are two parts in this answer. 1st is about comparing 2 colleges. 2nd is about course and placements. i would like to answer it from my point of view.
nit rourkela is a prestigious college. on the otehr hand iitdm kanchi is no way inferior. it is also a good college with good reputation. nit and iitdm both are cosly. one or the other way, they are costly. so it now depends completely on course and placements.
metallurgy is a growing branch, thus you could take up masters and then phd and go in research field so that you get a prestigious life. wherein cse is a branch which is in demand among students, which directly implies that there is going to be lack of jobs in the forth coming years. though there are lots of companies, getting a high paid job is difficult. where as in metallurgy, you can assure yourself of getting a job in top companies like, tata steels, sail etc. so there is no lack of jobs in metallurgy. there is a demand indeed.
if you have enough knowledge in metallurgy subject, you have a lot of jobs in foreign too. even in cse, if you have a lot of knowledge, then you might get placed in infosys, wipro and other top companies
so now its upto you to choose. no course is inferior. if you have enough knowledge, you shine. no one stops you from that.
i hope this helps you.
feel free to ask any doubts in the comments
The infrastructure of National Institute of Technology Rourkela is so beautiful as other NITs. We have all the world class facilities available in the campus all the infrastructure has some story of success
The laboratories were equipped with all necessary equipment. Each department and the library have open Wi-Fi access. The hostel provides spacious rooms that can accommodate two students. The infrastructure is very good. We have an indoor stadium, a football field, and a cricket field. Campus has Wi-Fi everywhere, classrooms have ACs and labs are also good and equipped with all instruments and machines. In hostels, the quality of food is good. Different types of food options are available for North Indians and South Indians. The college has a medical center with a doctor available 24 hours a day.
