Amity University | M.Tech Admissions 2025

Hello ,
Honestly it depends on you and on what basis are you comparing. Both the colleges are great. There are several factors like if you want to have that IIT tag obviously go for it . IITs are a bit better in facilities as they get more funds from the government than NITs. Nit is a bit far from the main city but if you like such environment then it is a great campus. Now, most importantly the branch you are interested in and what are you offered is what matters if you get IIT then go for it .
Good luck.
Hi,
It is difficult to tell that a you get a seat or not as the cutoff marks depend on factors like category, number of student applied, ,difficulty level of exam ,seats available etc.
So the cutoff marks required for admission varies every year.
However from previous years cutoff marks/ranks you can have the idea about the chances of your admission.
As per the pprevious years cutoff of nit trichy https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-nit-trichy
It seems difficult for you to get a seat in other state qouta. However of your home state is tamil nadu than you have some chances of admission in branches like civil , mechanical, metallurgical, mechanical
To know your admission chances in different nits and other colleges through JOSSA counselling you can refer the jee main college predictor tool. The link for which is given below-

Hello Ashish!
Only those who have experienced the life of both colleges can answer this question correctly, still we can compare them on some grounds :-
FACULTY- IIT receives huge funding, as a result the educational facilities get improvised.
CAMPUS LIFE- life at IIT BHU is quite thrilling with every day packed with surprises. Societies and clubs are quite active here with excellent sports facilities.
OUTSIDE THE CAMPUS- IIT BHU is located in the main city of Varanasi whereas NIT Trichy is 22 kms away from the city Trichy.
FEES- NITs have lower academic fees compared to IITs. But that is based on the funding from government and the amenities provided.
That was my opinion about your query, hope it gave you some clarity!
Hello Aspirant,
Actually if you didn't have more interest in chemical branch then you can't gain more knowledge during 4 years even in top 10 engineering college. If you have more interest in paticular branch like cse or ece or civil or mech then you have more interest to gain more knowledge even in normal engineering college. so choose wisely.
hope it helps you.
thank you.
Hello aspirant,
With your CRL and OBC rank, you can get into NIT Trichy with streams such as ECE, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) and Civil Engineering. You may get into all the branches of your choice except CSE. But since the data is based on previous year's cutoffs, it isn't exact because it varies every year. The availability of seats in the successive rounds of counselling also plays a big factor.

The infrastructure of college is quite good , big and well designed . The classroom is properly ventilated and has smart board for effective learning, The library has all the books of different categories and students can issue any of the books in respective time. There are many grounds for respective sports and properly maintained periodically.
It’s campus is so big that moving from one department to other requires a lot of time else you can use bicycles. The view of college is amazing. There is wifi facility along big big classrooms and labs. I don’t suggest you the mess food.
So the campus is having very beautiful greenery all around which makes the best nit of india look great. The hostels are although developed but their can be some improvements to make it advanced. I like the mess food.
