Hey
The last rank that got admitted in NIT Trichy was around ~6800 AIR [OBC category, other state], Materials Engineering and if you are a Home State student then your chances would definitely increase. And 200+ marks out of 300 may fetch you seat in NIT Trichy.
As scoring more than 200 will provide you an AIR around 5000, which is suitable for NIT Trichy based on last year records, irrespective of any particular branch.
Note: This is based on last year records and may differ for this session, but would be close. For further doubts, ask us. Cutoff link: NIT Trichy cutoff
Hello Aspirant ,
I think you are talking about percentile because there is no percentage in JEE Mains. Since you got 70 percentile it is a very low score and at this score you won't be able to get NIT Tirichy anyway .
Even ST cateogry candidate require to have more than 99 percentile to get CSE in NIT Tirichy and atleast 93 percentile to get any branch like Chemical Engineering, and you are talking about reaching from 70 percentile to 99 percentile in just two months preparation .
Let me tell you it is not impossible but only few candidates are able to do so . For achieving this you need to do a lot of hardwork and improvement .
You should stay away from all the distraction source and should study atleast 8 hrs a day apart from it you must find out your weak topics and try to improve them with also practicing questions of your strong topics simultaneously. You should join any online mock test so that you can give test and track your improvement , also practice privious year questions .
Apart from it just want to say even after doing hard labour if you can't get NIT Tirichy don't lose hope there are many other NITs which you can get by just scoring about 85 percentile as you belong to ST category. Also if you are a 12th student you can apply next year and improve your performance apart from it many other career options are also available , so be optimistic and prepare as hard as you can .
Hope this will help you.
Hello,
With the given percentile if we calculate your overall expected rank with the formula (100-your total percentile)*869010/100 it will be around 69520.Where 869010 is the total number of candidates appeared in January session.Your rank based on category is expected to be in between 15000-16000.You did not mention whether you come under to NCL or CL.If you come under CL then you are considered as general category. In 2019 the cut off was as follows branch wise in NIT, Trichy for home state OBC-NCL and general category respectively
Considering this you may not get seat in this NIT.You need to score 98 or above percentile to have decent chances of getting seat.To get such percentile you need to score 220 or above marks. The cut off for admission in IITs/NITs/IIITs is given in terms for rank, the percentile is converted into rank. Cut off is dependent on number of candidates appeared, highest score, number of seats available etc.It may increase or decrease.

The infrastructure of college is quite good , big and well designed . The classroom is properly ventilated and has smart board for effective learning, The library has all the books of different categories and students can issue any of the books in respective time. There are many grounds for respective sports and properly maintained periodically.
It’s campus is so big that moving from one department to other requires a lot of time else you can use bicycles. The view of college is amazing. There is wifi facility along big big classrooms and labs. I don’t suggest you the mess food.
So the campus is having very beautiful greenery all around which makes the best nit of india look great. The hostels are although developed but their can be some improvements to make it advanced. I like the mess food.
