100 - your total percentile score is the percentage of people ahead of you. 869010 are the number of candidates appeared for Jan exam. So rank formula is (100 - your total score) X 869010 /100. If the number of candidates for April exam increased to 1200000 then your final rank shall be (100 - your total score) X 1200000/100

So if we calculate your predicted rank it will be around 10167

If we see the last year cut off for NIT Tiruchirapalli then if you belong to EWS or General category then you might get in NIT Tirchy

Your rank should be around 7000 which is a very good rank but to be honest it won't be enough to get Computer Science Branch in NIT Trichy , NIT Warangal or NIT Surathkal . You need to work harder to get CSE in any of these colleges .

But if you will be satisfied with any branch , then you may surely get admission in any of the colleges.

(100-97.79)*869010/100=19205.
So your overall rank will be around 19205.
Your category rank will be around 7k-9k.
Considering 2019 JoSAA seat allotment a candidate belonging to OBC-NCL with rank 7162 got seat in production engineering and a candidate with 6892 rank got seat in metallurgical and materials engineering.However, cut off is subjected to change it may increase or decrease slightly.

Hi dear hope you are doing well as you have not mentioned your category as giving you a general category student sorry you cannot get admission into NIT trichy with 94 percentile.if you want to get admission into NIT trichy then your score must be above then 98 percentile.

If you have secured 97.6 percentile in JEE Main paper, you rank would be approximately in between 29000 to 34000.  Also, Above is the range of your possible rank. The predicted rank may vary due to JEE Main tie breaker rules for the same score.

Also, you can check your expected rank using the formula:

(100-your total percentile) x 869010/100, where 869010 is the expected candidate in April session.

So with 97.6 percentile, your rank would be around 29000.

You would not get NIT trichi with this rank. For ECE Branch the cutoff goes to 2000-3000. So, you wouldn't get ECE branch in NIT Trichy.
