Talking in terms of study, infrastructure, and faculty profile then you should prefer Tezpur university  but the only drawback is exposure rates and placements records which very important for a student to be get. Maybe this is due to the reason that this university is quite new. Now talking about assam college then it is comparatively good in terms of placements reports and exposure. Here faculties are quite good and study is also good. Make your decision wisely. Hope you find it useful.

As per the guidelines, only those students are held eligible who have cleared jee mains . Unfortunately, you have not qualified JEE mains because the cut off percentile for OBC was 74.31

But there is a provision to get direct admission on the merit based system to the top 5 position holders of north eastern state board with atleast 85 percent.

Your chances of getting the Tezpur University from home state quota at this much score in jee mains is very low. You may get branches like civil, chemical engineering there. I will suggest you to apply for civil engineering there.

It will not be possible for you to get any branch in Tezpur University because if you see previous three year cutoffs, you will find out that for a scheduled tribe candidate, you need to secure a rank of below 5000 and according to your percentile, your rank would be around 1 lakh 50 thousand to 1 lakh 75 thousand.
