The infrastructure at VSSUT is a mix of old and functional. Some academic buildings and labs are quite outdated and lack modern equipment. Classrooms are basic, and smart facilities are limited. The campus is large and green, which is a plus, but maintenance is inconsistent. Hostels are a major concern—cleanliness, washrooms, and food quality are often below expectations. WiFi exists but is unreliable in many areas.
Academics here depend more on the student than the system. Some professors are genuinely knowledgeable and helpful, but many still follow traditional teaching methods with less focus on practical or industry-relevant learning. The curriculum is somewhat outdated and doesn’t fully match current industry trends. Attendance and exams matter more than actual understanding in many cases. Self-study is the key if you want to grow.
Placements at VSSUT are average and branch-dependent. Core branches get limited but relevant opportunities, while tech branches have comparatively better chances. The highest packages are decent but go to very few students. Average packages are moderate. The placement cell tries, but students mostly rely on off-campus preparation. If you’re serious about your career, you’ll have to build skills on your own.
Considering it’s a government university, VSSUT offers decent value for money. Fees are lower compared to private colleges, and you get a recognized degree. However, the lack of modern facilities and average placements slightly affect the overall value. It’s worth it only if you’re willing to put in personal effort.
Campus life is actually one of the better aspects of VSSUT. The large campus, friends, hostel life, and fests create good memories. There are clubs and activities, but they are not very active or well-managed all the time. The location (Burla) is peaceful but can feel isolated sometimes. Safety is generally not an issue. Hostel life teaches independence, but comfort is limited.
Don’t come here expecting everything to be provided. Come here ready to figure things out yourself. The environment won’t push you—you have to push yourself.
The college infrastructure is quite decent with well-maintained academic blocks, classrooms, and laboratories. Most classrooms are spacious and equipped with basic facilities like boards and seating, though not all have smart boards. The library is peaceful and has a good collection of academic books. WiFi is available but can be inconsistent at times. Hostels are manageable, but maintenance and cleanliness could be improved, especially in common areas and washrooms. Overall, the infrastructure supports academic needs but still has room for improvement.
I am currently studying in this college because it offers a structured curriculum and decent academic exposure. The quality of teaching varies from faculty to faculty—some teachers are very supportive and knowledgeable, while others rely more on traditional methods. The curriculum is mostly updated but still lacks some practical, industry-level applications. However, if a student is self-motivated, they can gain good knowledge and skills from here.
Placements are average in the college. Some companies do visit, but the overall percentage of students getting placed is moderate. The highest packages are usually offered to a limited number of students, while the average package is decent but not very high. The placement process is somewhat organized, but students often need to work on their own skills to stand out. The college provides support, but more industry connections would help improve opportunities.
The course fee is reasonable compared to the facilities and education provided. While there are some drawbacks in infrastructure and placements, the overall experience justifies the cost to an extent. If a student actively uses the available resources and works on self-development, they can definitely get good value from their investment. However, improvements in facilities and placement opportunities would make it even more worth it.
Campus life is decent and enjoyable, especially with friends. There are some events, fests, and activities where students can participate and showcase their talents. The environment is generally safe, and people around are friendly. However, hostel life can be a bit challenging due to food quality and maintenance issues. The college location is manageable, and basic needs are accessible nearby. Overall, campus life is good but could be more engaging.
The college has potential, but improvements in hostel facilities, WiFi stability, and placement opportunities would make a big difference. Students should focus on self-learning and skill-building alongside academics to get the best outcomes.

The infrastructure is well-established. The campus size is also pretty good. All available facilities are nearby. Classrooms are spacious and clean, with blackboards, whiteboards, and smart boards. Wi-Fi access is very limited for students, almost negligible. The library has a good amount of books and is well-maintained. Hostels are nice, but the food quality is very average, typical of a hostel mess. Many sports and games are available, according to your preference.
Professors are well-experienced, with most from either NITs or IITs. Some are helpful, others not so much. However, they are quite clear in their concepts and teach according to the syllabus. Teaching quality is also decent. The course curriculum may be a bit outdated, like in other colleges, but they are slowly rolling out the new education policies. Semester exams are average to above average in difficulty and not that hard to score on
Placement in this college is decent, with around 65-70% of B.Tech students getting placed every year. However, this number varies annually according to demand and situation. the highest package was around 18-20 LPA. The lowest package was 3 LPA. The average package is around 5-6 LPA. We have very good infrastructure, with top-class lab equipments and large number of opportunities through available free courses and software premium access by our college email ID. The hostel facility is pretty average, with some need of attention towards food quality and hygiene .
This is something we really boast about; with our large alumni network and rich history of the university, we have brilliant minds acting as our faculty members and mentors. The curriculum is regularly updated either officially or personally by the professors to make the students industry-ready. But the semester exams, although not difficult, feel too short to prepare for with all the extracurricular activities
Nearly 70% of our students got placed by the on-campus opportunities, with many more trying for higher studies or off-campus chances. The highest package went on to 18 LPA, the lowest being 4.5 LPA, with an average of 6 LPA. The top core companies are Marquee, Scaledge, and Tata Electronics, with software options like Deloitte, Infosys, and Cognizant.
As it is a government college, the infrastructure is fine of both this college and hostels. There are few old hostels, and few new hostels that are apartment like albeit, the cleanliness is average. Around 100% of accommodation for all the students is available for both genders. Regulations are strictly followed in hostels who have in time in the evening. The hygiene is good. Wi-Fi is provided in all the hostels with good internet connectivity.
Teachers are highly qualified but do lack motivation to teach, they just want to finish the course until unless students are passionate then they teachers support the students. Teachers always persuade students for gate. The courses do make students industry-ready. The new semester exams curriculum is easy, and minimum passing percentage is 35%.
Around 90-95% of students are placed on-campus in the year 2023. Overall 75-80% of students across all the branches are placed majorly in software companies like Infosys. The maximum salary package offered is 17.54 LPA.Cisco acquired half a dozen students for 15 LPA. Amazon also recruits 15 students minimum salary package offered varies between 4LPA - 7LPA every year on-campus. Some students also got off-campus placements as in 2022.
