As far as session 2021-22 is concerned, there is no confirmed update about that yet. They may update about it soon, kindly check their official website regularly.

Yes, you can go for phase 2 if you are not satisfied with first phase. But phase 2 is just the another name of management seats. Which is different from phase 1. In phase 2 you should be paying high fee than phase 1. The fee in phase 2 depends on your rank and category you belong to. For more details check the official website by your login credentials. Dear candidate, ignore other options. Choose between SRM CS and VIT EC. Now, it's up to you which branch you prefer. EC is a more difficult branch than CS. CS has more employment opportunities than EC. EC is preferable for government jobs. Last, but not the least: your interest. Choose the one, in which your interest is. If you do not like coding then don’t go into CS. Average package of CSE SRM is more than ECE VIT. College life at both colleges is good, with a little bit of restrictions at VIT.

You will need to pay an amount of rupees 5900 for the counseling procedure at Vellore institute of technology. As you know phase 5 of counseling is meant for the candidates having rank above 1lac in VITEEE, so there is a mere probability of you getting CSE or IT even in fifth category. But there is a descent chance of you getting Civil, Mechanical and other non core branches under category 4 or 5.

Phase 5 of counselling based upon VITEEE ranks is meant for seat allotment to the candidates who have secured rank above 1 lac in the entrance test. It has no direct resemblance to the fee structure but impacts it. The fee structure is based upon the category you get for the desired program.

Category 1- 195000 pa

Category 2- 304000 pa

Category 3- 402000 pa

Category 4- 445000 pa

Category 5- 490000 pa

The fee structure for group B programs ( non core) is lesser than mentioned fee by amount of rs 24000.

As the selection of a college/university depends upon the priorities of an individual. One may find the colleges worst and best both depends upon the convenience, accommodations, fees structure and placements of the colleges. So, I am helping you out by mentioning both colleges:

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT)

The renowned college with good alumni and placement records holds more value than the Amrita because in VIT the student is not bounded to choose the particular subjects as every else student is taking. Also, a student is allowed to choose any topic that directly adds advantages to the research for a student. The placements indeed are on the next level, the college provides many good opportunities with a good number of packages. Around 90% of students got placed with an average package of 6.05 LPA.

Amrita University:

Because of the strict rules and regulations, the colleges are 4 times stronger than VIT. The most important point while joining the Amrita is the update and preparation of the students for the benefit of their academic and skills that are mandatory for placement purposes. The students can work on advanced technologies and can work to gain experience. Placemenscenariosrio is also very good in Amrita. Around 90% of students got placed every year with an average package of 4 LPA.

VIT University basically has 5 fee categories for admission into it's various courses across various campuses. But, the fee structure is same across all the campuses for a fixed course. The first category is of 1.9 Lakhs per annum tution fee and the last category i.e. the 5th category is around 5 lakhs per annum tution fees. Participate in the counselling process to know more.

VIT does not publicly release the VITEEE cutoff since 2016. However this year VIT is expected to release the VITEEE 2021 cutoffs. So, the institute may release the cutoff separately for each stream of engineering. If released then you can refer the career360 website for the same.For getting the idea of whether there is a chance of your admission or not is that in 2016 the closing rank for CSE is 7000 and in 2015 it is 15000.

The VIT Colleges have become a popular choices among the students due its impressive records as well a great academic excellence which makes it a tough college for getting seat, however the rank which you have got is a decent score and i would say that for getting main campus ie VIT Vellore or Chennai in this particular rank is not enough because the reason is that Mechanical branch is one the oldest branch and also the future demanding branch due to its hype increases automatically, but no worries you can definitely in other VIT campus such as VIT Bhopal, VIT Amravati and VIT AP because there you have a little better chance for admissions.

see cutoff score varies with determining factors like number of applicant, questions difficulty level, seat matrix, choice of stream etc. vit vellore is the main campus of vellore institute of technology. every year numerous students appear in vit vellore entrance test for engineering. based on previous years closing ranks data, you have less chances to securing electronics and communication engineering .
