The cut-off trends keeps changing every year and it depends on the number of students attempting the exam, difficulty level, number of available seats, etc. With a rank near to 26,000, you cannot get CSE, ECE or IT seats in Vellore in any fee category. You can try applying for EEE, Mechanical branches at Chennai campus. Whereas, you can secure a CS, ECE or any other seat in their Amravati (AP) and Bhopal campuses in first category itself as these are recently established.

The 5 year integrated Mtech programme in VIT is good and the placements are good too. But you need to maintain your CGPA,8.5+ to get placed in MNC which has this criteria for some specific marks.

But that being said , you will still get a LOT of decent opportunities and that includes super dream offers(10+LPA) from

• Paypal
• DeShaw
• Morgan Stanley
• DirectI
• Thorogood
• SAP
• Amazon .,etc

and also dream offers(4–10LPA) from

• Zoho
• Hitachi
• MuSigma. ,etc

But these companies don’t recruit anyone and everyone , and they will have a base eligibility criteria to even sit for their recruitment process. A CGPA of 8.5+( regardless of what people say) , a 10th and 12th aggregate of about 85% is always a plus.

It is definitely good to join  Mtech programme at VIT Vellore. However, this program trains you to work for IT industry and if you want to join the IT industry and you are opting for Integrated program then I would say go for it. Software Engineering program goes beyond teaching simple programming, and instead focuses on modern software engineering principles, tools, and analysis techniques for the design of large and complex software systems.

The initial level courses provide students with a core foundation in programming, mathematical reasoning, physics and circuit design. The later part blends fundamentals in IT programming including software engineering, database management system, computer networks, operating systems and storage technologies, IoT, and cloud computing. You can also choose electives that will help you studying more detailed courses like big data,IoT etc. You will get to study overall the background of Software.

Hands on experience is also important and VIT does make sure you get it. You get to work on some practical project with real time problem statements and also internship. Which will help you in getting job and also excel your overall knowledge.

VIT Bhopal has different faculty who sets question papers for Bhopal campus students differently. Exams are not common between Vellore and Bhopal campuses. Even the valuation of the answer scripts are done by Bhopal campus faculty only. But one thing that is common between all 4 VIT campuses is Placement opportunities. VIT has a centralized placement opportunity where all the 4 campuses get an equal and fair opportunity towards placements.

The rank which you have mentioned is very great marks and talking about the VIT Vellore it is one of the best and considered as number one VIT among others now talking about what you should go with by seeing your rank you can definitely get a VIT vellore and also you have a very high chance of getting CSE branch because it also has a cutoff range if 4k to 8k but also it completely depends on you which field you have to choose because it is the choice of your interest.

Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar is a NAAC A grade rated and NBA Accredited, AICTE approved college affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology. Btech electronics and communication engineering is a four years long undergraduate degree course in which at least 60% students get placed every year. The placement opportunities and salary package details are as given below

Highest package offered was 23 LPA

Average package offered was 3.4 LPA

Lowest package offered was 2.8 LPA

As you have mentioned that you have got cse in category 1 and you have got specialisation in buisness systems so I think it's the best deal in vit vellore and your tuition fees would be around 2L which is the lowest among all the categories so it's a fair deal.

The cse placements are decent in the college but try to avoid the bulk hiring companies like tcs,wipro,Infosys.
