The cut-off trends keeps changing every year and it depends on the number of students attempting the exam, difficulty level, number of available seats, etc. With a rank near to 58,000, you cannot get CSE, ECE or IT seats in Vellore and Chennai campuses in any fee category. The workshops are unbelievably cool.Every machine that I could think of , they have it a simple lathe machine or the huge CNC machines.
Faculty
They are a host to a few of the most chill faculties in VIT. In terms of marks or attendance or anything else. A few will give you a hard time but many of them are really good.
the infrastructure is pretty good and their Mechanical labs are pretty advanced and swanky looking in comparison to other colleges.

Cut-offs change every year and determined based on factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, number of students appearing for the exam, previous years' cut-off trends, etc.

Based on the previous years' cut-off trends, you have a fair chance of getting:

• Bioengineering at VIT Bhopal
• Computer Science Engineering (specialization in Health informatics) at VIT Bhopal

Vellore Institute of technology announced the results of phase 1 counselling today and students were provisionally allotted branches based on their preferences and rank in VITEEE examination. Many students have complained about the unfair allotment of their branches even though they had a decent rank this year. However VIT has clearly mentioned that no requests for change  in campus, branches or categories would be entertained.

Your friend has decent chances to get computer science and engineering under category 1 at Andhra Pradesh. The cutoffs for Ap campus is low as it has been established recently and very few students apply for the same. But still CSE is very demanded and with the reputation VIT has built in recent times, he might find himself in second category as in takes in Vellore and Chennai campuses are limited.

Vellore institute of technology divides its fee structure into 5 various categories on the basis of marks scored by the candidate in the VITEEE.The fee is lowest for the first category and increases subsequently for the higher ones. Candidates with higher marks are given choice to select the lower category and avail the scholarship.The category wise division of seats is different for different branches and the number of seat in each of them depends upon the total intake in that branch.

According to your VITEEE Rank you have decent chances of getting B.Tech Computer Science Engineering branch in Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore and Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai in mostly Category 1, based on previous year's cut-offs. As your Rank falls under previous year's cut-offs of B.Tech Computer Science Engineering branch in both VIT Vellore Campus and VIT Chennai Campus.

But Cutoffs changes from year to year and depends on many factors like number of students appeared in the exam, number of seats available, difficulty level of the exam, category etc.

With the mentioned rank you can get ECE probably in category 4 or 5. The fee structure for category 4 and 5 are as follows:

Category 4- approx 4.5 lacs per annum

Category 5- approx 4.95 lacs per annum
