As you have mentioned that you have got 12.3 k in the viteee exam ,so you would definitely secure computer science branch/ specialisation in category 2.  Securing in category 1 with this rank is difficult as the seats gets filled very quickly in category 1.

Coming to the campus selection, vit vellore would be the number choice with this rank. Other campuses like vit chennai or vit bhopal or vit Andhra Pradesh are not as famous as vit vellore for its cse placements.

ECE from DTU would be a better option than CSE at VIT.

The main reason for this opinion depends upon some factors like Brand Name, Location, Placement ratio, Fees.

See, The name DTU is itself a big name than VIT. ECE is always a better option in TIER 1 colleges.

The fees of DTU is very minimal as compared to VIT.

Placement is top-notch in DTU even for the ECE branch.

It depends upon you if you're interested in Computer science then you can go with VIT but ECE also has a good scope.

My suggestion will be to go with DTU.

To be very honest both the courses (Computer Science and Information Technology) are equally in demand as with the help of both the courses you will be eligible to sit fir the placement of same companies.

Although Computer Science is more intense as compared to Information Technology.

You just need to have good coding skills in order to bang a great placement in the IT companies.

You can go with both the courses but it will great if you go for CS as it's more software oriented.

Heartly congratulations on your success in VITEEE. Analysing the previous trends and cutoffs, it might not be possible for you to get cse core or with specialization in category 1 at Vellore campus with the mentioned rank. All cse seats at Vellore campus are booked under a ranking of 6-7k. You can either apply for cse at VIT,Chennai under first category o r get a category 2 seat in in case you choose to study at Vellore campus only. You can choose your preference order once you pay the fee for counselling.

It is really difficult to predict which Branches you get for your Rank because cut-offs varies from year to year. A ccording to your VITEEE 2021 Rank you have less chances of getting very few branches based on previous year's cut-offs. The cutoffs varies from year to year and branch to branch and campus to campus. The cut-offs depends on many factors like number of students appeared in the exam, difficulty level of the exam, number of seats available, category, branches etc.

It is difficult to predict it because cut-offs varies from year to year and depends on many factors like number of students appeared in the exam, category, number of seats available, difficulty level of the exam, etc. But based on previous year's cut-offs you have decent chances of getting Core CS Engineering branch in Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore.

Your rank is high so it's impossible to getting chance for admission in VIT Vellore campus. Because VIT Vellore closing rank for CSE is 8000, ECE is 16000. So in your rank you will not get VIT Vellore but you will definitely get VIT Amravati or VIT Bhopal campus. But which branch you will get it's quite difficult to predict. So go for counselling and let's see what you get.
