VIT Vellore has been ranked 691 globally for 2026 with an overall score of 25.4.
The college has all the necessary equipments and infrastructure for engineering and other disciplines. It has sophisticated labs for research also. Hostels are good with option of AC and non AC rooms. WiFi is also there but the speed fluctuates a lot. Food is okay but North Indians might need some time to adjust. Library and sports facilities are also present.
The quality of teaching is good but a few of the south Indian faculties might give better marks to the students who speak their language. The curriculum is updated regularly and also includes topics about the recent technologies
Placements are good. But to be honest majority of the students get placed in IT companies even if they belong to core branch which I feel is a bit unfair for someone who is from a mechanical background. But overall placements are good and almost 90% students get placements.
I feel the tuition fee for category 1 students is justified. It is 1.95L per annum + hostel and mess. It is value for money because we get a lot of exposure and a lot of scope to find our inner potential.
I would say the campus life is the best of all. There are two fests conducted every year namely gravitas (tech.) and Riviera (cultural) out if them Riviera is the best. Moreover students can participate in plethora of events. A number of clubs and chapters are also present which help in the growth of a student as a whole. But the college is very strict about PDA and the campus & hostel in-time. Other than that there are a lot of things to explore in and out of the campus.
The college has an amazing infrastructure with very helpful faculties. The entire campus is ragging free and all the associates are very helpful. The campus has almost all the basic necessities and overall, it's nice to be there
The courses are moderate and the faculties are really helpful. The college provide large variety of courses and you can easily choose among them and which suits your interest. Most of the courses has lab for practical experience.
Various companies come to placement. Large companies come for placement and almost, everyone gets recruited by various companies. You maybe picked by an IT company or by your core company, depending on your interests.
Worth it
Outstanding
Dream come true.
The college has a great infrastructure with all the necessary facilities and equipments as far as academics are concerned All classrooms are equipped with smart boards which are maintained well and used in almost every class but provision of facilities for sports has a scope for improvement as the gymnasiums and badminton courts for example require an increase in number to accommodate a growing student community in the hostels. The hostel rooms are cleaned frequently as per request.
I joined mechanical engineering to strengthen my foundation for pursuing my interest in aerospace engineering, the quality of teaching when it comes to the programme core subjects has been excellent for me except in one subject and my professors have been highly supportive but this experience could differ based on the professor one gets which is why I speak to my friends and seniors for their opinion and recommendation while choosing a professor during course registration.
VIT Vellore has one of the highest placement rates in the nation with 85 percent of the students getting placed with an average package of greater than 7 lakhs per annum and is steadily increasing by the year. The highest package of 44 LPA went to a computer science engineering student placed in Microsoft
Each course costs INR 6000 to register but the fees are paid based on the category in which the branch was selected during admission with the first category students paying the lowest and the fifth category students paying the highest fees. There are 60, 53, 12 and 35 credits to be completed in programme core, university core, university elective and programme elective courses respectively and the number of subjects thus required can vary based on the branch. I feel the teaching can be improved.
The campus life of VIT is remarkably outstanding as the vibrant community of students gel together in this melting pot of culture in an environment of ample opportunities to unleash their potential which makes this stay memorable. Initial adjustment to the hostel curfew looks tough but quickly becomes an opportunity to mingle with hostel mates in the same building which for the record are huge and this is where the frolicking around in the corridor at night as well as deep conversations happen.
To sum up, the experiences one gets in VIT are memories to be cherished for a lifetime and lessons to be followed in every walk of it. There will certainly be moments of frustration and disappointment but in hindsight they certainly feel irrelevant when compared to what is gained during the years spent here at VIT.
It was good. The remarkable aspect of VIT is the state-of-the-art infrastructure provided for both students and faculty. Fully furnished and well-equipped labs decorate every building in the University. Moreover, the campus is fortified with ample features that support diverse events - Auditoriums, plush open
Good as expected.empowers students with excellence through learning & continues the VIT Vellore legacy. It has retained the glory of VIT Placements and has firm commitment of One Student, Job.Knowledge content (topics in the curriculum) Utility value – application in real life Latest developments
Average for cse above 10lakh.The CDC centre plays an integral role in creating the illustrious placement record of VIT. It ensures smooth functioning of the placement activities in the campus. The centre further facilitates training activities of the students and makes sure they get placed in the best of both national and international companies
To be honest yes.
More then i accepted.
Lucky to be part of vit.
College has all the necessary infrastructure.Labs are well equipped with necessary components.Class rooms have smart boards, library is one of the best . Hostels are maintained well and food served in mess is of good quality as compared to other colleges.
I'm studying mechanical engineering. When it comes to courses offered they are divided into various categories such as program core program elective, University core and university elective..This allows students to choose courses based on area of interest.
Placements are good enough in core as well as non-core companies.Students are well trained for the placements right from the beginning.Due to pandemic all colleges have suffered but in upcoming period they might get back on track.
Well talking about Infrastructure I can surely say it has one of the best infrastructures among all colleges in India. With the option of AC hostels to having Indoor sports complexes, It shows how they have put efforts to provide all opportunities. Anna Auditorium is one of the best auditoriums I have ever seen. With so many things available I won't say you would be disappointed.
Academics wise VIT is very strict and strong because 3 exams in one semester are too hectic and classes are also held regularly which shows how seriously VIT takes academics into consideration. Even all the professors are Ph.D. ones so academics wise it's very good.
Being a student from Vellore I can say placements are quite OK. My only concern would be competitiion as there are so many students in campus it's very tough to stand out and grab an amazing placement but in the end, it all depends on the student because college is surely gonna provide all the opportunities but we as students have to grab them.
Not everyone's able to afford VIT because of high fees and due to the presence of various categories the fees increases and becomes too much for an engineering degree. Return of Investment for a student from category 1 is quite satisfactory but I won't say great.
This is surely gonna be amazing for anyone although there are some stupid rules but It doesn't affect much. With all the food courts Dominoes inside the campus, you don't even have to move out for food. So this would be amazing for sure
Decent enough, all essentials are included. Especially for core stream like mechanical , civil , electrical all necessary items are there in lab . Living spaces are bit cramped (especially for the first year) and mess is decent enough
Curriculum aren't revised . Same old things are being taught. They could have improvised the quality of teaching. Teachers aren't passionate enough. More efforts should be put in to improvize the curriculum.
Not good for core . Placements are only good for it dept . Not substantial core companies come for recruitment. Covid made the situation worse . Also , very few people get through good placemeng which they call it as super dream placement.
Return on investment isn't decent if you aren't from the first category
Beautiful campus but too many restrictions
Not satisfactory college
The college infrastructure is quite good. You have SJT (Silver Jubilee Tower) , TT(Technology Tower) , Periyar Library. The college labs are quite big and too many in number each one of them equipped with the best and latest equipment of outstanding quality and with required quantity
The curriculum was pretty updated and was specifically curated to make it industry-oriented. Professors are student friendly and approachable. Faculties are assigned on the basis of their specialisation and the stream they have worked or working in the case of visiting faculties.
Placement is great for IT , CSE ,ECE,EEE . You will get placed in super dream if you work hard enough. Many reputed companies like Whirlpool, Alstom, Hyundai, Qualcomm, HP, etc., visit here. They offer a good salary package. Apart from that, a lot of IT and consulting companies like Deloitte, ZS, TCS, etc., visit here.
Really beautiful campus. It has modern and well maintained infrastructure and provides support for researchers. Facilities like gym, swimming pool, indoor court etc are there and are well maintained. They have clubs to encourage extra curricular activities.
I am studying EEE. The electrical field has always interesred me. The curriculum is regularly updated and there are industry expert talks for every subject to help the students know of what is happening in real time
They provide well paying placements in big companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon etc. Almost all students get placed in some or other placements. The placement process goes on for a number of days and is pretty simple.
The cost is based on the students rank VITEE. Better rank means more cost efficient. Students with bad ranks have to pay little more
Seniors are friendly and there is absolutely no ragging and bullying. The teachers are also helpful. Its a bit too disciplined for a college at times but that helps the students focus on their academics. There is strict rules to ensure no smoking and drinking inside campus.
Really enjoying my time here.
The college infrastructure is quite good. For borrowing a book the process is automated and we don't have to wait in line. We can just scan your ID Card. The college labs are quite big and too many in number each one of them equipped with the best and latest equipment of outstanding quality and with required quantity
We learned a lot and the curriculum made us capable enough to deal with the day-to-day challenges of working in a corporate.Well maintained academics. You have to do most of the heavy lifting in order to get good grades. There is relative grading to calculate your CGPA
Placements are the core part of the reason why VIT is preferred among other Private Institutes. here. The placements are 100% with most placed students all over India. The average salary will be around 5L per annum with most number of students placed
Hello,
With a JEE Main rank of 83,472, getting into VIT Mumbai in CAP Round 2 under the OMS (All India) category is not possible. In recent years, the cutoff for branches like Computer Engineering in CAP Round 2 was around 4,500 to 5,000. Since your rank is much lower, chances are almost negligible.
Hope it helps !
Hello Rahul,
Yes, if your VITEEE rank is at 18,000, you have a decent chance of getting a seat for EEE (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) at VIT-AP (Amaravati) campus when you attend the counselling, and take into consideration the overall cut-off ranks at VIT-AP for EEE are higher (i.e. easier with lower cut-off ranks) than at VIT Vellore or VIT Chennai, but realize it also depends on available seats and competition that year. You should register for entertainment purposes, and put down VIT-AP as one of your choices. Check here for more information: VIT AP cut-off 2025
Hello Aspirant,
Having a rank of 9973 in EAMCET under EWS means you can possibly get into Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) in VIT-AP; that will also depend on the cutoffs for this year based on from previous year's cutoffs. In previous years, candidates with ranks in the range of 10,000–12,000 have also gotten ECE, especially in the last rounds. The best way is to go through all the counselling rounds and keep some backup options. Check here for more information: AP EAPCET 2025 College Predictor
