Barunei Institute of Engineering and Technology, Khurda Admission Process
Khurda, Odisha, which is associated with various engineering diploma courses along with the standard admission process, is BIET. Admission to BIET is mainly through the Diploma Entrance Test (DET) which is held by the Government of Odisha for qualifications to the college.
Usually, this annual admission cycle will be announced by DET after which counseling would follow and then there are admissions based on the fixed rank in the DET, thus doing a transparent and fair system.

Application Process
The admission process for Barunei Institute of Engineering and Technology is as follows:
1. Diplomas Entrance Test (DET): Register to appear in the DET that is conducted by the government of Odisha.
2. DET Result: Wait for the announcement of the DET result and rank list.
3. Counseling Registration: Eligible candidates should register for counseling according to the schedule announced by state authorities.
4. Document Verification: Report to the counseling with all necessary documents for verification which include

- 10th standard mark sheet and certificate
- Caste certificate (if applicable)
- Domicile certificate
- Recent passport size photographs
5. Seat Allotment: Admission to the program shall be based on the rank secured by the student in the DET, his/her preferences selected, and availability of seats in the course in the process of counseling.
6. Fee Payment: Seat allotment is made in consultation with DET rank, candidate's preferences, and seat availability. After the allotment of seats, candidates are required to pay the corresponding fees for confirming their admission. The total amount to be paid by each candidate for a diploma course at BIET stands at Rs. 71,100.
7. Reporting to Institute: Candidates are to report to BIET for the last admission formalities and document submission after proper payment.
8. Orientation Classes: Attend the orientation and classes according to the academic calendar.
Degree-wise Admission Process
Diploma Programs: BIET has five full-time diploma courses in engineering, all of which take three years for completion. The admission process to these diploma programs remains the same for all. The courses offered are:
1. Diploma in Civil Engineering (30 seats)
2. Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering (30 seats)
3. Diploma in Electrical Engineering (45 seats)
4. Diploma in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (30 seats)
5. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (45 seats)
Admission to these diploma programs is based on the performance of the candidate in the Diploma Entrance Test (DET) and a counseling process considering the rank secured by the DET followed by the reservation of the Odisha government. Normally, eligibility requires that the candidate has completed both the 10th standard and the Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects.
