Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Architecture for Women (BNCA), Pune, is one of the most prestigious institutions, dedicated towards providing architectural education only for women. It has such a wide array of programs in the field of Architecture that encompasses everything from a Bachelor's degree to a Master's and Doctoral degree. The admission process of BNCA selects brilliant and deserving candidates through various national level entrance examinations for admission. The admission cycle generally starts in the months of May and June for an academic session running from August to September. For undergraduate courses, BNCA accepts scores from the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), or the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture. Admissions for postgraduate programs are through the MAH-M.ARCH-CET conducted by the Government of Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell.
Eligibility is through the successful completion of 10+2 at a recognized board; however, Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry are the compulsory subjects. A candidate must qualify in an aptitude test in architecture conducted either by NTA (JEE) or NATA. For M.Arch, eligibility determines that the student completed their bachelor's in Architecture from a recognized university. For JEE Main 2025 Important dates, the city intimation slip which will inform candidates about the cities for their participation will release on January 3, 2025. Students must keep visiting the official BNCA website and all the respective exam websites for the latest updates on the important aspects, such as application deadline, examination dates, and announcement of results.
Application Process
The application process to apply at BNCA is different for its programs:
B.Arch:
- Qualify for JEE Main or NATA examination.
- Register for the respective counseling process (JoSAA for JEE Main or as directed by NATA).
- Fill out the BNCA application form (if required) on the official website.
- Pay the application fee.
- Participate in the counseling process.
- If allotted a seat, report to BNCA for document verification and fee payment.
Applicable to M.Arch:
- Qualify the MAH-M.ARCH-CET exam.
- Register according to how the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell directs one to for the counseling process.
- Complete the BNCA M.Arch application form on its official website, if required.
- Pay application fee.
- Complete the procedures involved in counseling. 6. If selected, complete the admission formalities at BNCA.
The usual documents required to apply for admission are:
- Passport size photographs
- 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates
- Graduation mark sheets and proof of degree (for M.Arch applicants)
- Entrance exam score card (JEE Main/NATA/MAH-M.ARCH-CET)

Degree wise Admission Process
B.Arch: BNCA provides a 5-year B.Arch program for aspiring students with an intake of 160 seats. Admission is given according to the candidate's performance in JEE Main or NATA. Candidates completing 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and qualifying in aptitude tests are eligible to apply.
M.Arch Digital Architecture: A 2-year program with an intake of 20 seats. Admissions are granted on the basis of MAH-M.ARCH-CET conducted by Government of Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell.
M.Arch Environmental Architecture: This 2-year course has an intake of 20 seats, and as for M.Arch Digital Architecture, the admission process consists of undergoing MAH-M.ARCH-CET.
M.Arch Landscape Architecture: Another 2-year program with 20 seats and the same admission process as other M.Arch programs through MAH-M.ARCH-CET.
Ph .D Architecture: BNCA has offered doctoral programs in Architecture. Though admission particulars are not provided, it most probably ranges from a written test and/or an interview, as is the case for other Ph.D. programs.
