Government Engineering College, Barmer (GEC Barmer) is the latest educational citizen in the family of institutions under the BARC Scheme. It is intended to cater to the demand for quality technical education in the state of Rajasthan. Government Engineering College admission process is based on merit, for this college includes admission into a variety of engineering programmes. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has recognised Government Engineering College, which offers seven B.Tech programmes through the regular mode.
Government Engineering College admission process is two-fold: by merit in the JEE Main or by merit in the 12th standard. For B.Tech programmes, Government Engineering College Admission Process (REAP) is used for admissions, along with other participating institutions in the state.
Though based on the results of JEE Main conducted at a national level through the National Testing Agency (NTA), candidates must appear for the JEE Main examination, which is generally held in January and April each year. They are expected to register for the exam via the official JEE Main website and follow the application process as per the NTA guidelines.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Programme at GEC Barmer:
Applicants must secure at least 45% marks (40% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-NCL/MBC-NCL categories) in the above-mentioned subjects taken together.
