Government Polytechnic, Joshimath Admission Process
Government Polytechnic Joshimath is an attached college situated at Dhak, Chamoli in Uttarakhand. It offers diploma programs in various engineering disciplines and recognizes the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The process of admission to Government Polytechnic Joshimath is primarily through the Uttarakhand Joint Entrance Examination Polytechnics(Uttarakhand JEEP).
The Uttarakhand JEEP is conducted by the board of technical education and is the main entrance exam for admission for all the diploma programs offered by the college. This entrance test judges the candidates' aptitude and potential in the relevant subjects, thus making sure that only the most meritorious students are enrolled in the programs.
Application Process
The admission process to Government Polytechnic, Joshimath follows the children-the-steps pattern:
1. Register for the Uttarakhand Joint Entrance Examination Polytechnics (Uttarakhand JEEP).
2. Fill the online application form for Uttarakhand JEEP available 05th January, 2025 - 29th April, 2025.
3. Pay the application fee through specified online payment options.
4. Appear for the Uttarakhand JEEP examination on the given date.
5. Qualified candidates may now attend counseling after the declaration of results.
6. At the time of counseling, candidates can choose Government Polytechnic, Joshimath, and the desired course under it (Electrical Engineering or Civil and Environmental Engineering) based on the rank obtained and availability of seats.
7. If a seat is allotted, candidates should report to Government Polytechnic, Joshimath for document verification and the admission process.
Degree wise Admission Process
Presently, the Government Polytechnic, Joshimath is offering two full-time diploma courses of 3 years:
Diploma in Electrical Engineering: This course has an approved intake of 30 students. The admission procedure for this program is through the JEEP examination conducted by the Board of Technical Education. Students desiring to go for a future career in electrical engineering should apply to this program using the Uttarakhand JEEP.
Diploma in Civil and Environmental Engineering: The approved intake for this program is also 30 students. Admission into this course is based upon the JEEP examination conducted by the Board of Technical Education; similar to the Electrical Engineering diploma mentioned above. This is meant for students who want to specialize in civil and environmental engineering.
Both programs are meant to impart general technical knowledge to students, together with hands-on application of skills, by their respective areas. The merit list is drawn up for both programs on the basis of performance by the students in the Uttarakhand JEEP examination.
