For first year: 

  • Candidates must have completed class 10/ HSC examination with a minimum of 35% marks in aggregate. 

  • Candidates must have studied English, Mathematics and Science subjects in the above qualifying exam and have secured at least 30% marks in each subject. 

  • Candidates must be of 14 years of age. There is no upper age limit. 


For second year (lateral entry)

  • Candidates must have completed class 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects. 

  • Alternatively, candidates with a 2-year ITI in an engineering trade or those who have completed +2 vocational with any engineering trade are also eligible.

  • Application process: Interested candidates meeting the eligibility criteria are required to fill an online application form by entering the required information, uploading the documents and paying the requisite fee. 

  • Merit list: The authority prepares a merit list based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. A general merit list and category-wise merit list are released by the authority. 

  • Counselling: The authority conducts counselling in online mode. Candidates with their names on the merit list are required to fill their preferences of colleges and courses. Seat allotment is done on the basis of merit ranks, availability of seats, and choices locked by the candidates has been announced.

  • Document verification: Candidates who are offered admission have to undergo a document verification process at the specified centres. 

  • Reporting and fee payment: Candidates who are allotted admission in the Government Polytechnic, Koraput are required to report at the institute within the stipulated time and pay admission fee to secure their seat.
