Unless you aren't extremely passionate about Electronics and Communications, Don't, I repeat, "DO NOT" pursue ECE. The Department is only for people who are extremely intelligent or extremely Hardworking. So, choose wisely and decide which category you fall in.

Now, if you plan on getting an IT job

               CHOOSING ECE AT BIT BANGALORE would be a better option because afterall its BIT.

The rank which you have mentioned according to last year's trends will fetch you mechanical in the mentioned colleges not very easily the placement statistics to all this colleges in mechanical branch are pretty much decent and upto the standards of nit in colleg like Rvce

You haven't mentioned your category in this query and if you belong to GM Category, I am sorry you cannot get into these departments. However, you can get into other departments for this category

You can apply to it but BMSCOLLEGE CLOSING rank is 1000 for CS branch so you have chances to get in it's 3rd ROUND as your rank is quite good that you can even get mech. Civil and electrical  in bms...
