Admission to COEP Pune are conducted through MHTCET and not through JEE Main.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate needs to be a permanent resident of Maharashtra.
• You need to score at least 150 - 160 marks in MHTCET exam.
• Aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics must be at least 250 for students of Maharashtra Board and 280 for students of CBSE  or other boards.

The cutoff for MHT CET in the colleges of Maharashtra changes every year depending upon various factors. Here is the list of cutoff from previous years data:

1. COEP (2019) : civil-158, Mechanical-170, electrical-168
2. KJ Somaiya College of Engineering (2019) : Computer-150, Electronics-113, ETC-120, IT-134, Mechanical- 136
3. MIT College of Engineering: Expected cutoff is 140+
4. Bharati Vidhyapeeth Deemed University college of Engineering (2018) : 78

Hello agarg4294 , In NIRF, Ranking COEP is in 24th position and VIT Vellore is in 13th position. Both the institutes are good for CSE and provides good placements. You can choose any college according to your preference or location or choice as COEP is a government college and VIT Vellore is a private college.

It has eight departments, including Computer Engineering, IT, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. It received ‘A’ Grade accreditation from the NAAC. It is 10 acres campus size .They also offers various facilities to their aspirants such as Labs ,shuttle service ,GYM ,cafeteria ,wifi ,hospital ,library ,hostel and also placements .According to the 2019 placements more then 40 companies are visited in engineering in different streams such as Amazon India ,Godrej ,hitachi ,Infosys ,IBM, Mahindra ,Pall corporation .Where the salary package is also similar to the  bharati vidyapeeth pune .

If we go through the above mentioned lines then we will know both colleges are holding almost same position with they provides different good opportunities to grow aspirants carers ,so there is no doubt both colleges are good and you can go through any of one as per your interest college .

As for the previous years, the cutoff marks in MHT CET for getting a seat in Computer Science Engineering, in Dr. D.Y. Patil College of Engineering was 85 marks. The cutoffs change every year, and is more likely to change according to the availability of seats and many other factors.

D. Y. Patil College of Engineering, Pune, given admission in undergraduate courses on the basis of MH CET and JEE MAINS rank.

If your general rank in jee mains is 131000 this year, then you can not get cs or it branch in this college.

So, the cutoffs for COEP, Pune, Maharashtra 2020 has not been released yet. But according to the previous years cutoffs you have to score around 170 -180 that is for general category. According to your score I think you can get admission in COEP, PUNE, Maharashtra.
