IIT Madras has recently upgraded its position in the top engineering colleges of India and is currently way better than IIT Hyderabad in terms of infrastructure, faculty, quality of learning and placements. The GATE cutoff score for non PWD candidates in 2018 were as follows on the basis of the category:
General - 483
OBC - 430
SC - 335
The cutoffs for 2019 should be approximately the same as the difference in difficulty level was not much.

According to previous years cutoff of GATE ( for metallurgy ), the IITs with their required cutoff are listed below :
1. IIT Kharagpur - In 2017 the cutoff was 432 and in 2016 the cutoff was 628
2. IIT Kanpur - In 2016 the cutoff was 544
You don't really get to see the college given that I am doing a online degree but there are meetups and a flagship fest called paradox . It is a beautiful campus when you get to visit it but alas you won't if you take an online degree
Beautiful campus,well maintained. There's a wildlife century inside the campus! All facilities are available, equipments are maintained & infrastructure is top notch. Library steals the show ngl. Classrooms are the best!
