Hello Candidate,
The courses you have mentioned are very different from eachother, If you're interested in coding and getting CSE at NIT Tirchy then you should definitely go for CSE. NIT Tirchy is a prestigious institute and in ranking it's even ahead of some of the IITs. The CS branch of NIT Tirchy is known for it's eminent academics and placements records. I wouldn't suggest you to join IIT that too a department you're not interested in just for that 'IITian' tag.
All the best:)

Hello!Aiswarya
Your score isn't enough to secure seats in IITs or top ranked NITs for Mtech program. You need at least 650 to secure seats in IITs.To know which colleges you may get visit below mention link:

Hello Ratan,

NIT TRICHY(CSE) is a good institution . You should not go for drop a year for IIT MADRAS.

Yes IIT MADRAS is a better institution than NIT TRICHY but NIT Trichy is not a less institution .

Both these institutions come under top NIRF Rankings of a country. Dropping a year for a IIT Madras when you have NIT TRICHY in your hand is not a good option.

Hi Windsor, the cutoff varies every year based on various factors like number of seats available number of test takers difficulty level of exams category of the student etc. However going with the past cutoff you have very high chances to get into IISC as the cutoffs end at around 818 for 2018 and 770 for 2017. You also have high chances to get call from IIT Madras, because most of the courses there have highest of around 700 as cutoff. All the best.
