No it's not true . IIT Roorkee have msc courses in applied geology. Almost all IIT have this course including IIT Kharagpur IIT Bombay a nd IIT ism Dhanbad. If you have made your mind for IIT Roorkee then you should go for it. If not then I will suggest

See Ritik this has became a common mindset of candidates that they would join some college then after 1 year they would do branch change. Rather than focusing on their curricullum they start to focus on branch change. This affects their results also.

The Indian Institute of Technology,Roorkee provides M.Tech courses in Structural Dynamics and the course is of 2 year duration. the admission is done through Gate entrance exam and 10% seats are provided without Gate exam to whose who score 8 cgpa on a scale of 10.

First of all as the name suggests IIT Roorke offers Electronics and Communications Engineering whereas IIT BHU offers Electronics Engineering so definately some of the courses on Communications systems would be replaced by more core Electronics subjects.
