Hi Sikhar,
Placements are great for those two branches. Basically most of the tech companies visits the campus for placements. So chances are great for CSE & ECE students in terms of placement. The average placement for the CSE is around 4-5 lacs/annum & it can go upto 15lacs even. ECE is around same. Campus is aslo great

Hello Kishan!

You have secured a decent rank in all the competitive examinations.

With this NTA score you won't be able to get into any good government college that too into a good branch. You will get some private engineering colleges only whose infrastructures, placements and education quality will not be as good as in KIIT or SRM. So avoid joining those private colleges on the basis of your NTA score.

I would suggest you to join KIIT rather than SRM. You can get branches like ETC,EEE,EIE,ECE,IT,MECH,CIVIL,EE in the the very first round of counseling at KIIT.

Being a student of KIIT Deemed To Be University,I personally recommend you to join KIIT since it is best known for the placements .Every year various companies hire students offering them 5-24 lakhs of annual package.

The university is best in every aspect whether it is academics or other activities.

They have a very well designed campus and in the last few years ,it has improved many hostel rooms, classrooms, campus etc.Hostels are very neat & clean and the College campuses have beautiful sights. Here you can find food from every parts of India. The hostel food is much better than other universities.(though the weather might be annoying at times but still better than SRM Chennai!)The faculties in KIIT are much better than those in SRM as I have heard from my friends studying in SRM university.Overall this is a college that anyone could ask for.

As far as ranking is concerned the most authentic one considered is the Official MHRD Ranking (National Institutional Ranking Framework, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India): MHRD, National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) In 2016, KIIT university got 32nd rank while SRM University campus didn’t even manage to get into top 100 university list.In 2017, SRM university ranks 35th position while KIIT University got 47th rank and now in 2018,SRM university ranks 41st position whereas KIIT ranks 42nd position. And also b oth are DEEMED Universities status wise.

Every private universities has students who come through donatation but here ,the number is way less than SRM.The fee structure of KIIT is also less  as compared to SRM.In overall comparison KIIT is a good university which has transparent system of education but in SRM University condition isn’t the same.

I would suggest you to join KIIT University on these basis and I ensure that you won't regret!

Hope this helps!

Hello Kshitij,

Congratulations! You have got a quite decent rank in KIITEE.

  • Electronics and computer science engineering(ECSE)

Hello Ashima,

First of all congratulations for securing such a good rank in KIITEE exam. With this rank you can get any branch of your choice if the rank you mentioned is your general category rank. If it is the women's category rank then you can get all the branches except for CSE branch.

If you have got you desired branch or your first preference branch in the very first round of counseling then there is no need of attending the second round.

In case if you have got the branch of your second preference or third preference as mentioned by you in the counseling form ,then you may attend the second round of counseling. It is because the chances of getting the branch of your first preference becomes more in the second round of counseling.

In case if you don't attend the second round of counseling then whatever you had chosen in the first round becomes finally alloted to you.

Further this if you want to take admission there, you need to report there, along with the verified and necessary documents like birth certificate, board marksheet, conduct certificate, etc and on the date which will be mentioned by them soon  .

Hope this helps!! !

College Infrastructure

The college's Infrastructure is great and has a very premium appeal compared to what I have seen so far in other colleges i have visited. Although of the fees here is very high too but the experience makes it worth it. The ambience, the comfort and the good environment is soothing. Although the current scenarios have been a bit left and right around the college due to 2 frequent suicides and spreading of misinformation, I think else wise it is a great place to be in. Basic amenities like wifi, washrooms, food and all are of top quality and there are not many extra restrictions related to any of it either.
