Hey Anand,

This year the placements were pretty good. Most no. Of companies came in CS branch around 120. And rest branches also had a good number of companies. Average salary package differed branch wise but, on an average 6 Lacs package was offered to most students. Placements are expected to improve in future. Almost 95% students got placed. The highest salary was somewhat around 25-30 Lacs annually. The lowest salary was 3 Lacs annually

Hey,

NIT Rourkela has two hostels for girls. You will get one of the hostels based on your admissions in the Institute.

For the first and second years students the room is shared by 2-4 students per room, but it has seperate cupboard, table, chair for each student in the room.

And after second year ,you get one room per student.

So hope you got your answer.

Hello aspirant,
In biotech engineering there is less scope in India, you have to go to foreign countries for getting a good job in bio technology, if you are getting  a good branch as compared to bio technology go for it.
Hope it helps.

Hello harshita,
Mechanical engineering at NIT kurukshetra is better the industrial design at NIT rourkela. Mechanical engineering has more scope than industrial design engineering course. If you take mech then you can get high paid jobs. If you interested in industrial design course then go ahead with it. Otherwise take mechanical engineering course at NIT kurukshetra. I think it is the best choice for you. Hope it helps for you.
Thank you.

Yes courses are available other than engineering at nit rourkela such as m. Sc and b. Arch . For full details of courses at nit rourkela please visit this site-

If you have no specific interest in any subject, mass recruiters like tcs, ibm and infosys are the companies for you. (3 - 3.5 lpa)

If you have prepared for CAT and Analytics tests, target companies like Affine Analytics, ZS associates, Mu Sigma and a few other analytics companies. ( 4 - 6 lpa)

If you are really good at mechanical, you have a slight chance of cracking core mechanical companies like honda, 3dplm, thermax, etc ( I say slight chance because most of the time IDians are not allowed to sit for mecha companies because their curriculum is incomplete for mechanical profile) ( 4 - 7 lpa)

If you want to persue product design, the best option is to go for higher studies or do internships and learn practically important stuff, ID curriculm's theory are insufficient to crack Product design jobs.

If you are good at design and has a decent portfolio - newgen is the company for you, they hire ui/ux designers. They look for good sense for design and logical creativity in a candidate. ( 5 - 6 lpa)

If you want to persue career in UI/UX, you have a lot of offcampus scope. With a good portfolio and a good resume, your degree in design will aid you in landing good jobs. ( 4 - 12 lpa, it really depends on how well you sell your skills, studying in NIT has nothing to do with it)

Hi

Well this is a tough decision and definitely you have to take this.

Firstly, if you want to study a Core Branch then definitely Mechanical Engineering will suffice. Then you must go ahead with Mechanical Engineering at NIT Kurukshetra.

If you want to study in a good, rank holder NIT then, NIT Rourkela is fit for you. But again, go with this option only and only if you want to learn Industrial Engineering or if maybe you don't have any kind of inclination towards any branch.

This choice making is tough because you are getting a Core and trending Branch in NIT Kurukshetra while a relatively lower desired Branch at one of the best NITs, i.e., NIT Rourkela. Think wisely and carefully.

Best of Luck.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!
