Hi Sachismita

Being from NITR i want to tell you chemical is considered as a good branch in the college and placement of chemical is also good. The average package is around 5.5 to 6 lakhs and I'm core it goes up to as high as 14 lakhs. Take a note that if you want to go for core companies there then you have to work hard there and join various club activities there and it goes without saying that your cg shd be around 8.5 for above average packages.

I hope my answer helped you.

Hi

You have to make two wise decisions.

Firstly, which college you want to join NIT Calicut or NIT Rourkela. NIT Rourkela stands a little better than NIT Calicut based on the NIRF rankings by MHRD of India, and based on multiple factors including academics, research, campus, placements, etc. Now you have to decide where you want to join.

Secondly, Civil or Chemical, solely you have to decide which among these two you want to study. Whichever you like, go ahead with that. If you don't have any inclination towards any among these two, then i suggest you to choose NIT Rourkela Chemical Engineering. You can choose the other two, depends completely on your interest.

Best of Luck.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Hello,

According to 2018 cutoffs, with a rank of 9607 in SC Category, you can not expect a seat at NIT Rourkela. Please note that this prediction is completely based on 2018 cutoffs. Cutoffs can vary from year to year based on factors like number of students appearing for the examination, number of seats available, difficulty level of the paper etc.

I hope it helps. For any further queries, ask me in the comments.

All the best!!!

Hello Shreelekha,

In my opinion, M.Sc in Life Science at NIT Rourkela would be a better option than the other because-

  • If you study life science then you will have a wider scope in future, more kind of jobs that you can get.
  • If you study virology then you will get restricted to that subject alone and you won't have a wide subject range of jobs available.
  • NIT obviously has an established reputation and attracts companies to offer jobs to the students.
  • If you pick NIT then you will have the degree of a highly prestigious institute.

I would suggest you to go for M.Sc in Life Science in NIT rather that M.Sc Virology in National Institute of Virology Pune. However, if you are really passionate about the subject then you can go for Virology as well.

It completely depends on your interest.

Hope this helps.

Hello!
National Institute of Technology, Rourkela had a cut off of 676 opening rank and closing rank was  2005. So I am afraid you won't be able to get admission in the college. You might want to try for national institute of technology, raipur which had an opening rank of 1452 and closing rank was 8689. You can also try for National Institute of Technology, Patna which had an opening rank of 1625 and closing rank was 4151. Check out the link below:

See if you talk about Nit Rourkela it is obviously a good college when compared to Nit Andhra Pradesh. You get more opportunities in nit Rourkela as compared to nit Andhra Pradesh.

But branch wise although metallurgy is better than food processing. But I will suggest you to go for nit Rourkela. Rest decision is yours to take.

Thank you.

I guess manideep that you should have considered every facts before askig this question. See obviously cse is good subject than eie but you also have to consider the college, which college are you going in.

What i see that eie is getting bigger day by day. And also nit rourkela is better than iiit gwalior.

But if you are really interested in cse then go for it, but i would suggest to go for nit rourkela.

Thank you.

What really, you have 71563 rankin obc.

Have you seen your rank before asking this question. Your rank is way too much for getting admission in nit rourkela.

Previous year the closing rank lowest was around 18000 for obc in fod processing. And see you have almost four times that rank.

Sorry but you are not getting this college.

Thank you.

Hello dear
Both are good college.
Now you should look for the branch you prefer because both are different branch.
In ECE you will learn about the signals ; coding ; and electronic gadgets and other things related to electronic and communication field.
While mechanical is all about machines ; their working and the strength of the materials we are using and other production tools and things.
So look about your interest and in which field you want to go.
Good luck.

Hello,

It's delightful to know that you are eligible for both the esteemed colleges for a branch in-demand like ECE. IIIT Hyderabad is one of the best colleges of India for circuit related branches. The sheer location of IIIT Hyderabad makes it a better college for job prospects. The updated curriculum of IIIT Hyderabad makes it a better option for ECE branch than IIT BHU or IIT Guwahati Chemical. As per the Information, only 60% of eligible students in IIT Guwahati got placed and the average package was around 14 lac. While IIIT H offered 100% placements. So if you are studying engineering for Jobs you should be choosing IIIT H. Traditional IIT tag is very helpful in your early career and if you are dedicated enough you can slide branches in IIT-G. Thus, it's really your choice.

The reason why I am not even discussing IIT-BHU is that until you have a lot of interest in Mechanical, it stands a bit below IIT Guwahati or IIIT Hyderabad.

In my opinion, you should leave IIIT Hyderabad only for OLD 5 IITs(B, D, M, K, KGP).
