dear aspirant,
Many of the core heavyweights like CIL,HZL,Vedanta recruit students from mining engineering offering 7–10lpa package. Apart from these core giants there will be some mining companies like Rungata mines, and others offering something around 4.5- 5 lpa. Then there are analytics which would fetch good salary.
hope it helped.
Hello Harshita, if you have scored a CGPA of above 8.5 or 9, then the chances are very good that you will be able to change your branch. But it is also dependent on whether there are seats empty in that department or whether someone else is willing to change the branch with you or not. In that case, it becomes easy.
Well you have to see one thing that NIT Rourkela is a far better college than VNIT Nagpur. You may think that Nagpur is a big town but still placements there are not that great even when the rankings of college are so high so go for NIT Rourkela as infrastructure is also better there.
hello ankit

Hi Sachismita
Being from NITR i want to tell you chemical is considered as a good branch in the college and placement of chemical is also good. The average package is around 5.5 to 6 lakhs and I'm core it goes up to as high as 14 lakhs. Take a note that if you want to go for core companies there then you have to work hard there and join various club activities there and it goes without saying that your cg shd be around 8.5 for above average packages.
I hope my answer helped you.
Hi
You have to make two wise decisions.
Firstly, which college you want to join NIT Calicut or NIT Rourkela. NIT Rourkela stands a little better than NIT Calicut based on the NIRF rankings by MHRD of India, and based on multiple factors including academics, research, campus, placements, etc. Now you have to decide where you want to join.
Secondly, Civil or Chemical, solely you have to decide which among these two you want to study. Whichever you like, go ahead with that. If you don't have any inclination towards any among these two, then i suggest you to choose NIT Rourkela Chemical Engineering. You can choose the other two, depends completely on your interest.
Best of Luck.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
Hello,
According to 2018 cutoffs, with a rank of 9607 in SC Category, you can not expect a seat at NIT Rourkela. Please note that this prediction is completely based on 2018 cutoffs. Cutoffs can vary from year to year based on factors like number of students appearing for the examination, number of seats available, difficulty level of the paper etc.
I hope it helps. For any further queries, ask me in the comments.
All the best!!!
Hello Shreelekha,
In my opinion, M.Sc in Life Science at NIT Rourkela would be a better option than the other because-
I would suggest you to go for M.Sc in Life Science in NIT rather that M.Sc Virology in National Institute of Virology Pune. However, if you are really passionate about the subject then you can go for Virology as well.
It completely depends on your interest.
Hope this helps.
Hello!
National Institute of Technology, Rourkela had a cut off of 676 opening rank and closing rank was 2005. So I am afraid you won't be able to get admission in the college. You might want to try for national institute of technology, raipur which had an opening rank of 1452 and closing rank was 8689. You can also try for National Institute of Technology, Patna which had an opening rank of 1625 and closing rank was 4151. Check out the link below:

See if you talk about Nit Rourkela it is obviously a good college when compared to Nit Andhra Pradesh. You get more opportunities in nit Rourkela as compared to nit Andhra Pradesh.
But branch wise although metallurgy is better than food processing. But I will suggest you to go for nit Rourkela. Rest decision is yours to take.
Thank you.
NIT Rourkela offers an impressive and well-developed infrastructure that enhances both academic and campus life. The institute features a central library, modern lecture halls, and separate, well-equipped hostels for boys and girls. It also provides excellent sports and recreational facilities, including a central sports complex, gym, and courts for games like cricket, football, basketball, and tennis. The campus is equipped with advanced technology to support learning and research. In addition, there are numerous clubs, societies, and auditoriums that encourage student engagement and extracurricular activities, making NIT Rourkela a vibrant and holistic learning environment.
our college is having a vast campus of 1200 acres , and 8 hostels (SD,GDB,DBA.MSS,SSB,KMS,KMS annexe,CVR) . out of this last 3 are girls hostel and SSB is married hall. rest are boys hostel. There is a central pure veg mess also where onion garlic are also not allowed
The infrastructure of National Institute of Technology Rourkela is so beautiful as other NITs. We have all the world class facilities available in the campus all the infrastructure has some story of success
