Hello Aspirant,  The food in NIT Rourkela is not bad despite of you are not from North India. They gave the different dishes everyday like choose Bhature, Biryani, Halwa,  Kadhai Paneer etc. There are two Halls CVR and KMS. CVR for girls and KMS for boys.

 Fests are a crucial part of the student life here at NIT Rourkela, where they act as welcome interruptions to the otherwise monotonous lives of the students. Furthermore, they also play a dual purpose by serving as magnets attracting students from neighbouring colleges, thus enhancing the reputation of the institute. Most of these clubs get a chance to showcase their skills/talents during NIT Rourkela's college festivals, held throughout the academic year namely NITRUTSAV, Innovision and Vriddhi. Monday Morning conducted a poll to take a measure of students reactions towards the number of fests at NITR and their overall attitude.

Dear candidate,

 NIT Rourkela has two hostels for girls.You will get one of the hostels based on your admissions in the Institute. 

For the first and second years students the room is shared by 2-4 students per room,but it has seperate cupboard, table,chair for each student in the room.

And after second year ,you get one room per student. 

There are 4 different blocks and have single seater rooms. For more details please visit the following link.

The placements  in Mining Engg. is very good as  compared to other branches. Lots of companies come for placement in nit rourkela These are list of companies come to NIT rourkela -

And many more. According to me  there is not a Mining company in the Country which don’t come to NITR. So you got a lots of choices.

There are some companies who require a minimum cutoff from the students whereas there are many companies who require more practical knowledge from the students.
