Hello nirmal,
The scores are quite low. Still you can check the previous years cut offs to have an estimate of the seat you can get in NIT Rourkela.
Please see the cut off's from the link provided below:

All the best!
Hello sourav
The placements in Mining Engg. is very good as compared to other branches. Lots of companies come for placement in nit rourkela These are list of companies come to NIT rourkela -
1.CIL
2.TATA ( Pre Placement Offer )
3.VEDANTA
4.HINDALCO
5.LAFARGE
6.L & T GROUP
7.ADANI
and many more. According to me there is not a Mining company in the Country which don’t come to NITR. So you got a lots of choices.
There are some companies who require a minimum cutoff from the students whereas there are many companies who require more practical knowledge from the students.
Goodluck I hope this information helps you
Hello Nirmal,
I think this score is low
but you can still check it out
Do let me know if this helps you
All the best
You need to specify the caste as well. With that rank it is difficult for you to get in NIT , however depending upon your caste you might get into any state government universities. The following link consists of previous years cut offs of various colleges including NITs and other prestigious universities. Please refer them.

Hi Lakshman,
As per your rank and category, it is not possible to get any of the NITs mentioned above as the cut off for Chemical Engineering is around 5,000 and Mechanical Engineering is around 3,000. You can consider other esteem colleges like: VIT, LPU, BITS, Assam Don Bosco University, Ahmedabad University,Jaypee University of Information Technology, Techno Global University, Xavier University, NIIT University, Sikkim Manipal University.
Thank you and best of luck.
Hi Subbu.
Congrats on getting such a good rank. NIT Calicut and NIT Rourkela are both good NITs. But, when coming to NIRF by MHRD, Rourkela is ranked at 15, while Calicut is at 50. With this, one cannot say Rourkela is better. It depends on many other factors. I have heard that the campus life of NIT Rourkela is godd. For NITC, you'll be in Kerala, which is a good state, and something different, if you're from any north indian state. And, also, one thing that you may consider is the distace to these NITs from your home. I see both as good NITs. But, it's better for you to read reviews from the pages of both NITs.

Good Luck.
The infrastructure of National Institute of Technology Rourkela is so beautiful as other NITs. We have all the world class facilities available in the campus all the infrastructure has some story of success
The laboratories were equipped with all necessary equipment. Each department and the library have open Wi-Fi access. The hostel provides spacious rooms that can accommodate two students. The mess facilities were somewhat manageable for students from other states. Additionally, we have access to free medical services here.
The infrastructure is very good. We have an indoor stadium, a football field, and a cricket field. Campus has Wi-Fi everywhere, classrooms have ACs and labs are also good and equipped with all instruments and machines. In hostels, the quality of food is good. Different types of food options are available for North Indians and South Indians. The college has a medical center with a doctor available 24 hours a day. Sports facilities are also available at college.
