NIT Rourkela All Questions

Congrats on getting such a good rank. NIT Calicut and NIT Rourkela are both good NITs. But, when coming to NIRF by MHRD, Rourkela is ranked at 15, while Calicut is at 50. With this, one cannot say Rourkela is better. It depends on many other factors. I have heard that the campus life of NIT Rourkela is godd. For NITC, you'll be in Kerala, which is a good state, and something different, if you're from any north indian state. And, also, one thing that you may consider is the distace to these NITs from your home. I see both as good NITs. But, it's better for you to read reviews from the pages of both NITs.

Yes I think that you will get a chance in NIT Rourkela  in general category but you should also take care of the counselling process of choice filling and  rest depends on the seat availability.

Since both are NIT's and are one among the top so select which one you have more interest, mechanical or CSE. As in the present scenario, CSE have more scope in future so i'll prefer CSE at NIT Rourkela.

The opening and closing ranks for admission in NIT, Rourkela considering the ST rank was -

Ceramic engineering- 2039, 4360

Food processing engineering -2072, 4747

You can get admission in these two courses if you belong to the other state. But if it is your home state you can get admission in Biomedical engineering, industrial design, Ceramic engineering, Food processing engineering as these courses have cut offs similar to your range of marks.
