to get admission in any nits you need to have 75% marks (general)  in 10+2 course , for sc/st it is 65% of marks needed. there is 85% seats reserve for domicile candidates. closing rank is different for all india seats and home state quota. follow the below link

After attempting the JEE mains you will be allow to go through the jossa counselling held to allot the B. Tech seats in the different colleges with variety of engineering streams.

To take admission in SVNIT in B. Tech for ST Students it generally goes maximum of 5000

sorry to say you can not get admission in b.tech after completing diploma in mechanical engineering in any nits. svnit stands for Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology. nits b.tech admission is only done by jee main exam score.  nits and iits has no scheme for lateral entry admission

Honestly yes coep is better than nit Surat in terms of placements and all. Coep has been ranked 49th in nirf Ranking and the average package of the college is around 6-7 lpa. But if you have good hands at coding then you can get more than 10lpa
